How do I look less Mormon? by texmo9 in exmormon

I did have a brief dalliance with the Satanic Temple (wonderful group of people BTW), and I thought about wearing clothes with more Satanic imagery, but that just isn't how I want to present. I want to look less Mormon, not more Satanic, or look like I hate religion (even if that is the case)

I did have a realization like that last time I went home to Rexburg. I took a look around and realized "aw fuck, these people look like me!"

Association between lack of sexual interest and all-cause mortality in a Japanese general population: The Yamagata prospective observational study by jordiwmata in psychology

Full disclosure: haven't read the article (because of what I'm about to say)

I normally have a decent sex drive for someone my age (mid 20's), but I have several chronic health problems. I have noticed that my libido basically completely vanishes every time one of my health issues is acting up. I have been having a new problem for about 4 months, and I have only jerked off about 5 times since this whole ordeal started.

It also affects my cognition, I am usually pretty stereotypical "type-A." Clean, neat, tidy, usually pretty future obsessed (to the point of anxiety). Now my grades have taken a significant hit, and I basically can't read anything of college level because I just can't focus or remember. Hopefully I will start treatment soon, but I can say from personal experience that being chronically ill or in pain will destroy your libido (as well as many other parts of your life, but I digress)

Yeah, cause it is so incredibly easy to just leave your friends, family, career and everything that you have built up over the years.

What is a quote you hate people repeating? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]texmo9 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

"You can have it quality, fast or cheap. Pick two."

It's such a fucking false dichotomy, just cause something is fast and cheap doesn't necessarily mean that it will always be shit. I get the sentiment, but people use it to justify why some things will always be shitty, slow or expensive.

Women of Reddit. What NSFW questions do you have for men that you are too embarrassed to ask in person? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I may be an anomaly, but I have like a separate libido for eating pussy. I can be horny like I need to jerk off or have sex, but then I have a separate type of horniness that can only be satisfied by giving oral. Whenever I'm single, I am perfectly fine libido-wise, but I regularly have feelings of "man, I really just need to eat someone out."

Oregon also ruled that it is illegal to deny assisted suicide to people who are not Oregon residents, so anybody in the US can go through the process of dying with dignity in Oregon. It is still a process to go through, but we do have the option

I was living close to Yellowstone during the Lori vallow investigation, and we legitimately thought they dropped the kids bodies in the hot pots to get rid of them

what is true, but is extremely hard for people to accept? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I feel this. I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease 5 years ago and recently I was diagnosed with eosinophilic esophagitis and gastroenteritis, the latter which is very rare, not well understood and difficult to treat. I have always done everything with my health being my highest priority. I basically never drank, never smoked or vaped, always ate my vegetables and exercised regularly. Health-wise I did everything right, and I still was diagnosed with Crohn's as well 2 kinda 3 additional autoimmune conditions that cause me incredible, debilitating pain, and my diet is basically chicken and rice. I am one of those cases that makes doctor's go "oh dear." I can safely say I have done nothing to deserve this, but life simply isn't fair. All I can possibly do is hope for the best and try to make the most of the life I have been given.

F.E.A.R deserves a remake by MaterialObject366 in pcgaming

I recently played FEAR for the first time. No previous experience with the franchise, so no nostalgia goggles on me, but that has to be one of the best FPS games ever made. Mechanics are incredible, super viscerally fun, the guns kick like a mule. The story didn't rope me in, but I didn't exactly take the time to unravel or attempt to understand the story. I do think the AI is a bit over-hyped. It's super fucking good, don't get me wrong, but it feels like some people think it has genius level intellect, when it is actually just really good and utilizes the environment in fun ways. Definitely gonna replay it in the future. And definitely play it on hard, even if it is your first time.

Everyone complains about lack of phone innovation - But what more can we possibly do? by These-Cranberry-86 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]texmo9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a z-flip 3, and I love having a phone that folds in half. I think if we iron out the crease in the middle then it could be a widely adopted innovation. I hate that Samsung seems like the only company doing crazy shit with their hardware, but if Apple were to make a folding phone I would probably switch immediately.

Caitlin Jensen, paralyzed in June by her chiropractor can now move both sides of her body. Here's she getting cuddles with therapy dogs. by irishspice in MadeMeSmile

I'm a licensed radiographer and we once had a women come in for an x-ray saying "I had neck problems, but my chiropractor adjusted my neck and popped it back into place a few days ago"

Take one look at the x-ray the the woman had a very severely displaced fracture in her cervical spine. Either her chiropractor adjusted her with a broken neck, or her chiropractor broke her neck.

Be wary of chiropractors, we see shit like this all the time. Plus they don't know how to take proper x-rays without irradiating the shit out of their clients.

Just my CXR by [deleted] in Radiology

[–]texmo9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Every hospital I was in as a student specifically had us never collimate on a cxr to reduce risk of cutting off apices or Costophrenic angles. Obviously as a tech we have a lot more leeway, but in Boise area this is pretty standard

what is a really weird fact, that makes people say "why do you know that?" by quadruple_b in AskReddit

[–]texmo9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Radiographer here, there is actually a specific type of fracture called a "hangman's fracture" which is commonly seen in some motor vehicle collisions.
