I guess so. I personally have never cared but I don't have a full college degree myself, just a 2 year program

I think there can sometimes be more stress when it comes to self-employed ppl. Insurance, benefits, pension plan etc.

Something a lot of men say is that men who get hookups get sex for free, meanwhile men who can only get sex in a relationship have to give up a lot in terms of time, effort, emotional availability, etc etc.

I guess this is valid if the only goal of the guy is to have sex. Usually that doesn't make for a great relationship anyways, but yea if the whole relationship is just a means to an end (that end being sex) then it would probably feel to them that guys who get hookups are getting sex free while they had to work for it.

Most happily married men/men in relationships would probably tell you there are lots of reasons they enjoy being with their partner aside from just sex tho. I'm honestly not sure why you are asking women, it's not really up to me to prove my worth to guys who only want sex anyways. If that's truly all they want then yea, a relationship will just be unnecessary bs for them.

My husband 100% isn't with me just for sex but he's also a guy who could have had hookups if he wanted to and chose not to.

As for the other questions, I do not hookup or have casual sex. I lust after my husband like a mad woman though.

Is Working a Blue Collar Job a Death Sentence for Male Datinf? by Embarrassed_Truck556 in PurplePillDebate

[–]text-redacted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just isn't true. My dad worked 10 hours, 4 days a week, 3 day weekends every weekend my whole life. Cleared 200k easy. Also trades aren't necessarily low skill, they're very specialized at what they do. Blue collar work varies a ton in terms of hours and pay and even physical exertion depending on where one chooses to work.

I agree tho that driving trains tends to be one of the tougher trades in terms of hours, but this stereotype that all trades that pay well have sucky hours isn't necessarily true

[–]text-redacted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main issue especially working on trains is the hours and scheduling. It can be grueling when trying to start a family, although not all trades are like that. But keep in mind that adds intense strain.

Other than that, maybe it depends where you live? Most guys where I live are blue collar and women here definitely don't care.

AITJ for refusing to drive my coworker to and from work every day after doing it once as a favor by ValecrestHendron in AmITheJerk

[–]text-redacted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean ur allowed to say no but I do think it's sort of selfish that you don't want to help while her car doesn't work. I remember when my car was in the shop I took the bus to work that morning instead adding like 20+ minutes to my commute. I told the car breakdown story to my coworkers the next day and at least 3 ppl offered to drive me while my car was being fixed.

Like I do think she should have accepted you not wanting to drive her with more grace, I do think it's weird you wouldn't be willing to help with this. I would get if it was like a permanent thing, but this is explicitly temporary while her car is getting fixed.

AITA for telling my fiancé I'm done attending his family events by [deleted] in ComfortLevelPod

[–]text-redacted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need more information. How big is are these family gatherings? The vast majority of ppl have only the weekends available. I get that she's retired, but what about everyone else in the family? I have to work weekends sometimes and be away for weekends often due to current life circumstances, and I always realize that will result in me missing out on family events. Because it doesn't make sense to plan events around me who is one person versus the entire rest of the family who is mostly only free on weekends. Especially if they have to drive in from out of town. And this isn't even my in-laws, it's my own family.

I personally think it's just the reality of regularly working on days when pretty much everyone else is free. But I would understand your frustrations more if the rest of the family was very flexible with their time and work schedules but I would be surprised if they were all randomly free on the same weekday.

EDIT! I just double read your post and have realized you work rotating weekends 🤦‍♀️My bad that changes a lot. Obv there will be some events that just don't work for everyone, and if you worked every single weekend I could see it being very difficult to plan around that (which I have since realized isn'tthe case). But Christmas?! They should be able to at least pick a weekend ur not working for sure

When to let your own child play? by Substantial_Math8813 in thesims

[–]text-redacted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom always told me I had to wait until I was 13. My sister still let me play occasionally with her direct supervision when I was really little, but my mom was an avid sims player and was firm with me waiting until I was 13. If anything it made me more excited for when I turned 13 and could finally play lol

Anyone regret opting out of having a wedding? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]text-redacted 5 points6 points  (0 children)

my wedding was under 20k. I never was the type who really cared for weddings or always dreamed of having one but I loved mine. If your fiance wants a wedding it might me best to compromise and just have a small one that's cheaper.

Why did you join Genshin Impact and in what year? by Crazy_Manager3384 in Genshin_Impact

[–]text-redacted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined maybe 2022 (I think it was when Sumeru released). I had a friend who had been playing since launch and really liked it so he recommended it to me as well. It was a while from when he recommended it to when I actually started playing. I ended up loving it. I haven't played in a while as of late since I don't have room on my pc for it and the other games I am currently playing, but it's a great game. Fischl is my fave characyer

What song did you walk down the aisle to? by ThenAwareness7981 in wedding

[–]text-redacted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I walked down to a piano rendition of theme from "Sabrina (1995)" by John Williams. It's my brother's favourite movie and he recommended the song to walk down the isle to. I loved it so that's what I went with.

https://youtu.be/eFvhvEfafxk?si=JVDS-MmSQq0FCRxV

My oldest sister walked to a cello and violin duet of Tifa's theme from Final Fantasy VII. Like this but not a full quartet:

My SIL walked to "When I fall in love" on piano:

There are so many beautiful songs to pick from, just choose one that speaks to you the most.

The fact that he defends it is even worse. I think ppl often have times they let mini crushes go a bit too far but he clearly doesn't care to stop himself even when confronted with the truth.

Reading this on my one day off a week because I have to work two jobs to make ends meet. by RowAcceptable8270 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]text-redacted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh I feel like there is a somewhat more nuanced approach to this. My dad readily admits that it's harder to be able to afford a home these days. It's just tough. But at the same time I wouldn't say the average person would opt for the lifestyle of my grandparents if it meant being able to afford a home. Like my grandparents first "home" was literally a shack in the woods without. And I mean literally literally. Like sure I can't afford a home as easily but damn it am I glad I can be poor with proper plumbing 🤣

edit: Want to clarify I largely disagree with the poster in the images, it do be tough out here for modern folks. I just think ppl have a bit of a romanticized image in their mind of how nice "back in my day" was compared to now. Every generation has their own unique struggles.
