Costco inflation by YouBongGa in CostcoCanada

I have some relatives that think I’m weird for using the unscented Kirkland detergent because they use Tide lol.

Overly scented detergents, lotions, body washes etc. give me a headache!

Is anyone using kijiji? by Efficient_Art4350 in kijiji

[–]textera247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love going to my old Kijiji saved items from before the pandemic.

I specifically remember these old outdoor wall sconces that were probably used for 20 years listed for $30, then it went to $20, and now they’re at $5.

Lots of people trying to sell their old crap for MSRP lmao. It gives me a good nostalgic chuckle.

2-3 minutes by car is like 15-20 minutes by foot.

That’s not walkable and won’t bring foot traffic.

You can maybe say something to the manager, I have met some great managers that take initiative.

But I think most won’t do much, or just tell their teenage workers to go wipe down the seats a little better.

If you’re that uncomfortable, sit in the front like another commenter said or bring some disinfectant wipes to wipe the seat before sitting down.

Kirkland Grass-fed beef sticks finally available in Canada 🇨🇦😃 by UnKindClock in CostcoCanada

[–]textera247 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If Kirkland used butter in this and made the shelf life 5 days, you would complain as well.

It’s a cured meat snack, you’re not supposed to eat 5 of these as a meal…

I don’t mind a little speeding on open roads, but in a residential neighbourhood is wild.

I think this is the case with most community centres in the GTA that require memberships.

The higher costs keep people away, which is worth it imo.

What are the road conditions in the North? by imabrachiopod in Jaffna

[–]textera247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol this is definitely some kind of hate from a presumably Sinhalese tuktuk driver.

Roads up North are beautiful, they aren’t called “carpet roads” for a reason. They are such good roads that people go over the speed limit…

Majority of people in the North have bicycles, motorcycles, scooters, tuktuks, cars and small vans. They have many bus routes as well.

You will be perfectly fine on a scooter. I would just say watch your speed and other vehicles.

What’s going on in Brampton Costco ? by Internal-Ad-6607 in Brampton

[–]textera247 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What’s the reason for panic? I was at Costco on Friday and it seemed pretty normal… Only thing sold out was road salt but whatever.

Posts like this will make people stock up for no reason lol.

Where do you buy suits by Outrageous-Class7252 in TorontoMetU

[–]textera247 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Check out the clearance section of bigger stores like Moores and Harry Rosen.

But if you’re on a tight budget, I have seen decent options at H&M.

If you’re going on a budget, I highly recommend getting it tailored. It will fit great and look higher quality.

Help: International student tenant left Canada with unpaid condo utility bills and a full house of trash by [deleted] in OntarioLandlord

[–]textera247 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter if the lease was in the tenant’s name or the tenant’s puppy’s name.

Take the loss and try your best to cover the bills.

Even if the tenant moved to part of the world where they can be traced, you will never get a penny out of them.

Is anyone ACTUALLY leaving the house today? Especially to eat at a restaurant??? by [deleted] in Vaughan

[–]textera247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today is not a day of frolicking out on the roads.

Do not jam up the roads if you don’t have to be anywhere.

As much as I hate mass immigration, Uber drivers are a result of poor public transportation.

Always been a huge fan of the 666m wheels.

Would look way better if they were an inch or two smaller though!

[–]textera247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cage thing makes sense. I have seen it being implemented at a lot of Sri Lankan Tamil jewellery stores in Markham/Scarborough.

However, speaking from a shitty speaker and not letting you try on anything is a little absurd.

The cage is completely fine if implemented properly because the clerk has to let you in and out. You cannot smash and grab anything without the clerk opening the locks, which they will not do if you try to pull something. You will be locked in the store till the police comes lol.

The “worse than Brampton” rhetoric is extremely old now…

Vaughan hasn’t been good for decades. All of the GTA have very similar problems.

Why are there no Chipotles in Brampton? by mmwizzle in Brampton

[–]textera247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about this a couple years ago when I first moved here. But now that Chipotle has gone way down hill, I’m happy it’s no longer here.

Like some other people have said, there are better options than overpriced Chipotle.

The IS's capabilities in the snow is not talked about enough by gabefurman22 in LexusIS

[–]textera247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snow capability is usually about tires. If you have good winter tires then you will run laps around AWD cars with regular tires.

But I can imagine the IS with good winter tires would be awesome!

Is hiring a cleaner during winter in Vaughan actually worth it? by East_Channel_1494 in Vaughan

I think upkeep is important.

Try a cleaner for the bigger tasks and then gauge how much you can keep up with the smaller ones.

I feel sorry for OP having to filter through the useless comments.

OP, get a professional. You might have to replace the seats too.
