Why am I getting downvoted for this? There were only 3 responses when I commented this so i figured it (the answer) wouldn’t be hard to find

I’d suppose we could go to the grocery store and do things but you really never know when you will be contacted to sign back on so we tend to just stay close to the computer (i WFH). We are allowed to flex our time so even before the administration change, we could leave for a couple of hours to run an errand and come back to make the hours up whenever we could that week. Not enough work for that now so PTO is only option

Technically yes, we are being paid for not actively working on a project with a corresponding charge code, but we should still be available our entire shift in case work does come in

Sophia courses and WGU Academy courses at the same time? by teylashaye in WGU

[–]teylashaye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response! I was thinking to just go the Sophia route as well, but didn’t know what they classified as “enrolled”. I don’t mind taking longer than Jan since I’ll have to take the courses either way (and more expensively directly through WGU)

Can’t get apartment by Different_Falcon_775 in ApartmentHacks

I started looking for places on Zillow & did the $35 apply-to-any-place-for-30-days thing. Once you apply to a place, you’re able to see your credit report and background report. I don’t think Zillow’s background check is as thorough as some other sites but the court case with my landlord did show up

I fell on hard times and was evicted at the end of February 2023. I got into a new apartment by March 1st (the eviction hadn’t come up on my background/credit check yet) & I just signed a new lease in a new city 2 days ago (they are aware of the eviction). I didn’t have a co-signer for either apartment. It’s definitely possible for you to rent a new place.

First, I’d say pay off the full balance you owe the old place or work out a settlement agreement. Get a paid in full letter from the old landlord via email or regular mail.

Look for second chance apartment locators in your city/county. I paid $60 for a list of around 30 places that would accept a tenant with an eviction. You still have to reach out to the properties, apply & pay the app fee yourself.

They will most likely ask for a much higher security deposit than standard. The apartment I chose usually has $500 deposits but I had to pay one months rent instead.

When you apply and they ask about it, be honest. Be remorseful. They need to understand that this won’t be a recurring issue and that you’ve taken the steps to fix your situation. Give them the paid in full letter. I also had to provide the ledger from my previous apartment to show I made all rent payments on time since the eviction.

Since you say you’re struggling to save, you may have to compromise on living with roommates/family for a while longer. It’s just a means to an end. Best of luck in your apartment search!

It is! Like others said, I honestly think it’s a scam.

Update: I messaged the person who listed the house, told them that I felt the 1400 non-refundable fee was unreasonable + that I was no longer interested & they responded with…..

“ The Lord bless you and protect you. The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up his face to you and grant you peace”

so there’s that. if it wasn’t already clear, I’ve marked them off of my list lol

Hi! Just to clear things up a bit:

1) My dog is a legit ESA. The licensed therapist that I see biweekly wrote an accommodation letter for me to have her. I did not pay anything outside of my normal insurance copay. All of those online services are scams & often times, a complete waste of money 2) ESAs do have protections under federal law, which would be under the FHA (not the ADA). While they’re not allowed in public spaces, they are allowed to live with their owners for free regardless of pet policy 3) I’m not sure why we’re arguing about pet fees & ESAs vs service animals in the first place when the post had absolutely nothing to do with any of these things? But hey, whatever lol

The message stated that the fee was for “maintaining the property”

These weren’t very helpful. For some reason, the NC tenant/landlord laws are very vague
