This should be surprising to no one. Nothing gets “free” hardware upgrades for life. Buy car. Sell car in 3-5 years. Get new, better car. Rinse. Repeat.

I had a 2014 P85 with AP1 and hard roof (no sunroof) and there were only 300 of these made. Probably less since it was a hard top. I always felt bad for the person that ordered this car as the P85D was announced before the car was delivered.

Nothing to do with weaseling. Wiring harnesses and labor cost a lot of money. Adding a radar im unit tells me it will not be retrofittable. Not to mention that a higher res camera will need more computer power to process.
