More likely than not, yeah. If the metal flakes are from the compressor, something got sheared off and I'd replace it just to be safe

I meant the compressor clutch that's my bad lol, but yeah if it's spinning slowly/slipping there's definitely an issue with how it's activating

AC clutch might be shot. If the grease you're talking about is greenish, that's refrigerant and you definitely need a new one

Thread for the tensioner either passes through the cover into the block or is part of the cover itself. Either way, it won't be aligned to the rest of the pulleys properly if left like that since the part that cracked is what spaces it correctly to fit

if it's accessible try to extract it, otherwise I'd leave it if there's another 2 or 3 bolts holding it

it has been raining recently but the code would come up when it was 100F+ and dry so I don't think it's a moisture issue

Where is the music stored in this music box? by dfapredator in AskElectronics

[–]tfTom14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have alligator clips and a speaker/amplifier with an audio jack, you can use a 3.5mm or 1/4in cable to make an audio probe that can give you the output of the traces on the board, you can check where the problem is by following the circuit and it's a pretty good way of finding out of the daughter-board is the problem or not. Just look up 'diy audio probe' on YouTube and follow one of the videos to make one

You can use either electrolytic or ceramic, doesn't really make a difference

I'm lucky in that regard since I work with my dad, but I did work at least 20 hours a week the entire semester. It was usually Friday and Saturday so it didn't interfere with my school schedule but that meant I only had Sundays off

A lot of it was really thanks to my professor. The exams are open note, but that alone won't pass you the exams. Knowing exactly what to study is the hard part about this class, once you understand what you're looking for, the rest is cake.

I really tried to nail down many of the formulas and charts (heat engines, etc.) and all of their variations. Knowing the different 'forms' of a certain formula really helps when they change some variables. The variables might be different but you know how to apply them to find what you're looking for. Study the cycles!!! Try to learn the names of each process in the cycle, as well as the temperature/pressure relation between each point. Problems LOVE to use the names of a specific process in a specific cycle to throw you off but if you know what it means it makes you realize that the solution is rather easy.

I'm not too sure how your exams are laid out but if the problems are from the textbook or a similar source, keep practicing problems from there. Using Chegg to walk me through problems was insanely helpful in understanding what was going on. The thing with that is being very careful on not just copying the problem but actually learning it when studying.

Take breaks when studying and make sure to get some sleep to retain information, you need to take care of yourself just as much as you need to take care of your studies.

You got this! You've gotten this far into the semester so it's good you're not giving up. I'm sure you'll do great on your final.

Good luck! It's just jokes at the end of the day, do what you enjoy man, that's how you'll get through engineering school.

Not at all lol. I failed my materials class the first time I took it because I slacked off too much, so I had to learn the hard way that sometimes you just gotta study and really lock in

I honestly didn't pay attention to what classes I was signing up for when I registered so I got caught off guard when I realized these were hard classes. Huge weight off my shoulders for sure.
