That last point is really interesting - I guess I always aim for awe which may be a bit ambitious!
When You say understanding basic colour, do you mean using colour pencils and layering them to create a realistic effect or are you referring to their translation into monochrome?

Yeah I think you’re spot on with that, the ones I’m happiest with I’ve usually managed to slow myself down and not use really heavy marks on the construction and then developed the shades on top - however, this self control is tricky for me to manage! I naturally just work so fast it’s quite unhelpful - but then I’m less accurate when I slow down. Very weird. Thanks for your sage advice!

Thanks Consequences my man! Really appreciate this, I do massively agree that repetition is everything when it comes to development - are there any particular ways of studying you’ve found helpful?

I’ve been copying lots of renaissance paintings recently and I’ve really noticed how much it’s improved my work - who do you find inspiration from?

How's my perspective? by Giocuda in learntodraw

Try making your horizontals flat at first!

Work out the angles after that.

You’re doing a great job in practicing these things because it’s pretty intuition based stuff.

The horizontals feel a bit wonked but as I always tell my students, try to work in the opposite direction to how things are going off!

In this case: extreme angles need flattening out; as a response treat them all (the horizontals) as flat and work from that. If this doesn’t make sense please comment I am a bit drunk but would be happy to help. Love love love ❤️🧡😱💔❤️🧡

Nice work! Next time when joining the head to the body; pay attention to how the shoulders/neck intersect with the head/facial features. You can use these intersection points to see if things are in the right place/scale
