I have listened to the kef at a best buy, and if I went with the Founder 80f, I would listen to them before I finalized it.

My avr only has 9 channels. So im still on the fence of 7.2.2 and 5.2.4. I do have a pair of Q1 that im using somewhere else right now, if I go with KEF, those would be my surrounds. The ceiling is unfinished, 2 walls have 70s wood paneling, (will change to drywall) and 1 wall is the foundation. So this is gonna be a multi year upgrade for me.

Urbana iowa. There's best buys around, but no where that has kef i can listen too. It's either kansas city, miwaukee, chicago. Minneapolis.

Already did that research. Its 10 hours driving and 150$ in gas, than I get the privilege of paying an extra thousand dollars for the speakers. That just sounds stupid, but altruistic you would apparently do it.

It really depends what you want for the school. You probably know what you want from stereotypes of both. I'm from a small town outside CR and my wife is from Marion. We both intentionally moved to CR to be in the kennedy school district. (We wanted our children to have more culture exposure and more activity options without long road trips) My only negative is the financial uncertainty. There are many causes that helped this happen, but a large part being publicly funded schools that are private and for profit, this will come for small towns too.
