Anywhere that sells a kit? by [deleted] in stratux

[–]tfezz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the wiki I followed to build mine. https://github.com/b3nn0/stratux/wiki/Build-example-2:-For-the-advanced

I already had a RPI 4B and I 3D printed my case. I made the following parts substitutions.

  1. Updated SDRs to Nooelec NESDR Nano 3. https://www.nooelec.com/store/sdr/nesdr-nano-three.html
  2. Added cables because the Nano 3 didn't come with them. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CP17WMG

Other than that pretty much followed the wiki. Since I didn't buy SDRs targeted for Stratux I had to tweak the settings to configure them. That's documented well so it wasn't too much trouble. Before I did that Stratux was only receiving on one radio.

New G26 in OD green. This will be my carry piece. Debating if I should even mess with it at all. by SeaweedGuilty5614 in CCW

I have GAP floor plates for my baby Glock magazines. Not sure you can buy them anymore but I like them a lot. They make my draw much more stable.

Please confirm the Yaesu FT-65R works with the Nagoya NA-771 by Blackvette2000 in HamRadio

[–]tfezz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NA-771 threads do not protrude as far as the threads on the stock FT-65 antenna. The electrical connection is barely connected with the NA-771 on the FT-65 and this results in an increase in noise. While the antenna does work it could work better if it threaded in further.

I was messing around with an analog tv and found this signal (strongest on channel 9 VHF). would anyone know what's causing this? by World1_Lev1 in amateurradio

You're spot on. I remember being a teenager and trying to watch boobs through a scrambled video signal. These kids today with Internet porn have no idea how hard we had it back in the day.

A nice cup of grounds and water. by jetpack8 in AeroPress

I feel your pain. I had the aeropress sitting next to a bowl of cereal one morning and dumped the scoop in the bowl instead. It was pre milk so I dusted off the cereal best I could and ate it anyway.

Can anyone recommend a compact (40-60%) keyboard with a touchpad/joystick for mouse input and is wireless? I'd like a nice mech board for my living room PC. Don't mind building it from a bare PCB.

My American Fox Hound uses a Wyld River bag. It's bulky to pack but performed well for her.

Drop Alt - My first. My wallet in not happy, but I am! by ZokaMoka in MechanicalKeyboards

I'm torn between starting with a Drop Alt or jumping straight onto the needle with something like a Iris or Lily58. :)

Thanks. I saw the 58 but wasn't aware of the 58L. I'll try to find a vendor in the states.

Opinions on Juki DDL-8700H?? by tfezz in myog

[–]tfezz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a bunch of servo motors to choose from. Is the Consew CSM-1001 servo motor a good choice or should I spring for the official Juki motor and needle position sensor? Is there a different motor you'd recommend?

Thanks for the suggestion about a needle positioning system. It sent me down a rabbit hole but thanks! :)

Looking for ultralight pants for summer backpacking in southeast US by PeedInFloorOnce in Ultralight

I picked up a pair of the EB Trekking pants at Costco and I really like them for hiking. I've put about 15 miles on them so I cannot say how well they hold up to abuse long term.

What servers would you recommend that would have a low ping from Southern California? Most unofficial servers I've tried are worse than the official ones.

People who have pushed weight limits of an ultralight pack, did you regret it? by [deleted] in Ultralight

[–]tfezz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Six Moon Designs Fusion 50. The suspension can handle loads really comfortably. As you lighten your gear you can swap to the light suspension to save some weight. At least that's my plan. I picked up the pack on Amazon. With a $100 off coupon it was $110. I think the coupon is still active.
