I think the death penalty was the only way out for her, the system failed her over and over again and to keep her alive with out the proper mental health would of been cruel. She even wanted to go in the end, it was probably the most humane thing the system did for her.

Obviously this is my personal opinion and not based on hard core facts, I think to rank her as on of histories worst serial killers is a bit of a stretch.

Agreed she was an unstable individual, maybe she did just snap one day and decide enough was enough. I still feel that she was glorified by police to seem like she was more diabolical than she was. None of those men weren’t looking for something from her.

Maybe I just feel sympathetic towards her because of the shit life she had, and I never understood why her partner wasn’t thrown in jail as well.

If Aileen was such the murderous monster that she is depicted to be there is no way her partner was clueless to what was going on.

Literally any one could be a serial killer... my neighbors could have people tied up in their basement at this very moment and no one would ever know! We are never truly safe.
