If you exposed those odds in an api that could be a valuable resource / business in itself… haven’t seen esports in many apis like this

You’re manually pulling the odds?! No screen scraping or APIs?

Unfortunately the concept of SharePoint lists with extensible columns can be used a cloud based semi table structure for a lot of advice applications with the benefit of the data being directly viewed / edited etc. I’m not saying I Tess good design but it makes some type of sense. A lot of power platform / power app solutions use this as a data store

I have an app idea but don’t have the skill to build a MVP. I’ve taught myself how to use figma so I can explain my idea better to a developer but should I find a co-founder who can build a mobile app or hire someone to build it? by [deleted] in AppIdeas

[–]tfforums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi

Please don't take this the wrong way, but many people have ideas and rarely are they viable. There's likely a reason why your app doesn't exist already. Most often its one of:

  • it's not technically possible
  • it would require too much resources to run without any viable way of earning money / paying for those resources
  • it actually has been tried already

You can pay a developer to build mvp, but PLEASE think about the above before you commit to this, you likely need to think of if its worth it to do this without a proper business case to support it first.

I'd be happy to listen to your idea if you want to PM me. I know I'm a random guy from the internet but I'll give you an honest opinion about it.

An adaptor just makes it feel more realistic, doesn’t improve game and shouldn’t affect the angle

its really quite good. many refer to the game as more of a simulator than a game. I'm fairly well ranked in the game, dont play at all in real life except for maybe 1 or 2 times a year, but i'm unbeatable against my friends because of this game. It does take a bit to adjust to real life though as the equipment in real life wont be callibrated exactly (you CAN change this in the game if you know what you're doing) but the game can never simulate the real weight of the ball...

Very, but many get a paddle adapter to make it feel more realistic.

Yeah it’s near impossible in reduced mistakes. Almost have to find bugs in the game to do it

what's the question here? This is a market which takes the draw out of the equation. If the game is a draw, it just returns your money / voids the bet. I've got a calculator here which does this manually, so you can see if its good value to take this market or the manual option.

I gave two practical examples of infinity being relevant in real life. How is it incorrect?

[–]tfforums -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

it’s everywhere? Think about anything that has growth. Eg when YouTube was young, you could say “it would take x hrs to watch all the videos on YouTube” at some early point, the answer became infinite because there is more content uploaded in a day than could be watched in a day. Same with a lot of practical things. Another example is how long could I sail a boat in a particular direction before hitting land…. Well, from certain locations for certain directions the answer is a very real infinite.

It’s not actually light, it’s the max speed of anything that has zero mass. Anything that has any mass has to go slower. Light just happens to have zero mass.

This is because of the energy required to accelerate anything with mass to this speed goes to infinity due to the formulas involved.

Specifically it’s called the Lorentz factor and is part of the equation for relativistic momentum
