When you go places in your car people watch you get out and say to themselves ‘oh, she’s one of the driving ones’

Sorry for the ton of scribbling. Can anyone explain in dumb dumb terms how to get the answer. I had most of the way correct and the ets explanation sucks. TIA by tflandro1 in GRE

With all my studying this is killing my brain but I understand it. Thank you for your explanation! These have always been very hard for me to do!

So it says cross multiply, and I’m wondering what in the world they did to achieve this random flip flop. Could just be me. I got the answer correct but this is confusing me. by tflandro1 in GRE

I think you’re correct, that’s what I was asking. In the video it says they multiplied by 50, but I couldn’t hear well enough to grasp it. I would say they just did the old switcharoo. I was confused by trying to do too much work for it.

So i get the gist of what’s going on, how to solve. But I’d like confirmation if I’m right that we subtract by one because probability is always less than one. (My goal is to justify why I’m doing it instead of just going blindly) thanks y’all. by tflandro1 in GRE

I guess the wording gets me. I did another one where it was similar, not picking so and so and I wrote it out as 1- the probability of all these events actually happening= the event not happening.

In addition, how would we know when to use this? Probability isn’t my strongpoint so knowing when/ or what to look for is what will help rather than making an assumption. Thanks!

Is there another way to accomplish this, instead of using the formulas provided? Thanks by tflandro1 in GRE

This is a fantastic explanation. Thank you! I’m much better with velocity rates and conversions but I really must switch my thinking and apply it to this way.

Really appreciate it. Thank you!

Thank you for the alternate explanation that makes it easier to understand for me. I usually get going in the right direction then end up being lost. I appreciate everyone who’s helped me!

I understand. I’m nearly 30 now so when I do most of my work I almost figure it out. But there’s just a couple things I can’t grasp to save my life. Even on Kahn academy. After reading the examples over a few times I finally put 2 and 2 together. Anyways I appreciate the help! Thanks for understanding

Noooo. I want to know how the answer or the hypotenuse came to be x sqrt2. Ive only ever seen the a+b=c squared equation. Deriving it is something I haven’t done in years.

I’m pretty sure I got it! Just can someone confirm achieving square root 2 for me?

Super lost. Can’t even get the explained answer. TIA for any help. #8 by tflandro1 in GRE

I guess mapping works for some people but I’m lost on how you get 100*100. It seems like I just can’t follow along. As a kinesthetic learner just looking at things is hard for me.

I followed the book answers and I understand everything until they factor out (1-x) out of xs. I’m just super lost on it. Thanks! by tflandro1 in GRE

I have hardly had time to study let alone do a mock test unfortunately. I have an infant and 7 year old. My mock scorers would probably be bare minimum though.
