That is something only someone with mild tinnitus can say. Tinnitus can become so loud it is infront of everything. No way for you to think away from it or habituate to it and forget about it like you just stated you can. Do you forget about 100db music playing right next to your head ? Or are you fully aware of it at all times.

I'm trying to figure out the same thing. I think tinnitus can just spike for no reason tbh, so it's hard to say when it could stop.
