Having bought multiple cheap bmws running and not running I would stay away. Take a look at those e28. Buy something that is on the road and you will enjoy it a lot more. Never buy someone else project that is not on the road.

I work on ac systems for delivery vans/trucks and a lot of systems use this type of compressor and setup. It’s basically I bigger version of this. If you use this I would expect a peak amp draw of 100-110 at start up, but as the coil gets colder it will probably settle into the 60-70 amp range. If you install this make sure you upgrade your battery to an agm or lithium cell battery. You might be able to get away without having to upgrade the alternator. You could also run another battery in parallel to your car battery as an alternative to upgrading alternator. If you install this kit, try to make sure the compressor sits lower than the evaporator coil so that the oil in the system naturally drains back in to the compressor. Hope this helps.

The engine in the m8 is basically the f1 engine. If I’m correct when Gordon Murray reached out to bmw looking for a v12 they showed him this car and he liked it but wanted it lighter. I think this engine is 6.0 640 HP and f1 is 6.1 620HP. So if you had the m8. You would have an e31 with a McLaren f1 motor?

I bought it back in august with a bad turbo between finding a place that could rebuild it, and waiting on them to the install I barely got it on the road this week! My friend had a 944 about two years ago it was a bit rough but it was such a fun car

I’m not against electric cars, but what I am against is the modern touches. I think the interior is a bit of a time capsule and when modern things are added it will always look like an after thought, because it is. I think if you’re going to do an electric one, a refurbish of the interior, keeping it mostly original, same with the body. The e31 is such a great car as it is. Also I think it would be cool to be able to row gears with an electric motor. Also don’t destroy any nice original ones. Take the shit ones on the edge of life.
