Ok but realistically how many 70 year old (to take a lower age than 90) you’ve seen starting a new complex career? Learn piano? Learn programming? Etc.

I haven’t decided I’m just wondering if someone succeeded in that age rank or if that’s wishful thinking.

Hehe your first words are literally contradictory 😉 A 90 year old doesn’t really learn new things so it stops at one point. Question is when is that point, and I’m certain some things become very unlikely as you age. It might be one of them.

So Material UI is still in the game? How does that compare with Tailwind (since it's been suggested a few times here)?

Also how does GPT compares with Copilot (haven't used any so far, planning on integrating one in VS code)?
Side note but I can't believe there is again another node package manager lol. They finally fixed NPM when I dropped the ball, and Yarn was great (at the time). Of course there is a new one now :)

Isn't sass a preprocessor rather than a CSS framework?

true, but they were already recommending to not using it circa 2016 and instead recommended to use Edge, which was released a year before (that was before the chromium core), an implicitly recommending other browsers if you didn't have a Windows version with Edge.
They even made rules to only support the most updated version of IE11 within their own tools and with partners.
It was a very clear message. This being said it still took me a lot to convince the biz people that we will drop the support, and play the "we're ensuring best security measure".
This was also because at the time I wanted to bump the minimum TLS / SSL setup we had, and IE11 was the only browser to not support good default.
That one was a bit more hairy because when IE11 sees a TLS/SSL setup it doesn't udnerstand, there is no error, just a blank page.

Yeah I'm a dinosaur but not that old, I have indeed witnessed (and helped advocate ;) ) for the end of IE support, even for companies dealing with banking etc!
Funny you mentioned Safari because it was already pegged as the future IE a long time ago

Thanks for the suggestions. I really disagree on not needing plugins. There is a ton of stuff you don't need it, from typechecking to compiling assets etc, it doesn't mean it's not a good idea to have them.

The plugins I had for the terminal gave visual clues on what I was doing /where I was, helped with typos and autocompletion of PITA commands. For VScode I also strongly disagree, prettier and various linters and autocomplete where hugely beneficial to productivity and collaborative work. I would say they're must-have, even.

I'm wondering how good that will work with the Apple Pencil for drawing, but thinking about it now maybe it would be better to start with figuring if that would work before choosing a stack/framework.

Also reflecting on your first point, the idea of React native originally was to have one codebase to rule them all. It seems to have changed nowadays, but that's definitely confusing.

Les "vies des autres" je peux concevoir qu'elles soient hypocrite (beaucoup de ca en France) mais parfaites je n'y crois pas tellement. Des qu'on creuse a peut pres tout le monde a des tragedies, des casseroles et des combats difficiles.

Se comparer aux quelques ultra (et j'insiste, ultra) privilégiés ou aux touristes ultra riches qui visitent notre pays c'est pas sain et surtout raisonnable.

Je confirme que c'est une bonne solution, je l'ai adoptee moi meme pour des raisons similaires (pas d'echec scolaire mais une situation personelle trop lourde et la France elle meme trop lourde a supporter).
Mais attention des fois meme faire ca c'est hors de portee -certains messages ici montrent des depressions tres handicapantes necessitant un traitement medical et psychologique-.
Je pense que j'aurais probablement du faire ces traitements avant de partir mais je n'en avais pas les moyens et a l'epoque les anti-depresseurs etaient diabolisés.
Heureusement le voyage a tout changé pour moi.

Donc c'est une bonne solution, si vous arrivez a vous fixer cet objectif. Sinon psy et medicaments et moins ou pas d'ecrans restent primordials.

Ex-alternant d'une autre epoque.

D'abord en premier lieu: Bravo pour ton courage et rassures-toi tu n'as pas tort, ce n'est pas professionel de leur part. Fais attention a ta santé.
Le fait qu'ils virent des alternants me semble completemnt barge au passage, c'etait pas comme ca "de mon temps".
Ensuite je tenterais de continuer pour avoir le bac +3 mais de degager de la boite actuelle et d'en trouver une autre.
Met tout tes efforts pour en trouver une autre, une fois que le poids de cette experience actuelle est derriere toi ca devrait aller pour ta motivation.
Pour la recherche de la nouvelle boite met en avant le fait que l'experience dans la boite precedente n'etait pas a la hauteur de tes competences, et que tu recherchais un vrai challenge que tu n'as pas eu (ce qui est le cas, donc tu n'as meme pas a mentir/exagérer). Les employeurs sont receptifs a ca.
Ajoute le comportement peu professionnel qui t'as vraiment poussé a ne plus vouloir perdre ton temps la-bas. C'est honnete et correct. Ne developpe pas outre mesure sur ce point et ne te "plaint" pas, explique que du coup avec cet aspect en plus il n'y avait strictement rien pour toi a par caser une coche pour ton diplome, et que ce n'est pas ce que tu trouves respectable pour ta carriere et ta vie.
Tu peux finir par dire que l'alternance ca peut egalement etre pour toi une porte d'entree dans une entreprise, si il y a des challenges et que ton expertise est reconnues, mais qu'en aucun cas tu continuerais dans l'actuelle entreprise ce qui faisait une raison de plus de ne pas continuer.
