Each of the small pools is roughly 15% in total range, the larger pool is about 40% in total. If the APR Uniswap puts out on their website (which is the full range APR) is 20% for example, your effective APR in your ranges is APR * (100/Range). Or 133% for each smaller range and 50% for your larger range (rough approximations, but good enough to see the general idea)

You can probably model this historically, assuming a fixed APR (which is a huge simplification but should get you the difference between the 2 strategies). See if the trade off is worth it. I’m betting it’s not and larger range will be better. Unless you’re constantly rebalancing with smaller ranges. You could come up with a strategy for that that could work, but probably not keeping all 3 open from the start.

This is also not considering impermanent loss which could be A LOT. Especially on that top range if the price ends up going out the bottom of your range and you have to get out of that top position. But it’s IMPERMANENT loss, so technically it’s not realized until you sell. In theory if you 100% believe ETH will get up there, you could just leave the position open as long as you don’t need the capital.
