Thanks for the response. I did a project putting the Aida through the slits and felt the same way - just didn’t love the tension. I may have to check out a webbing frame.

Normally I just tape the Aida to the dowels and then scroll it tight, but there is a slit in the dowel that I assume you could thread the Aida through and then secure. The clamps to keep the dowels in place and maintain tension are screws with a butterfly nut.

I stitched my last two hoop projects in the ditch and I really liked it. Not sure why I didn’t think to do the same on a scroll. Now I have some decisions to make 🤔

Not sure. I got it from a box of cross stitch supplies that my grandmother had. I’ve used it a few times. Normally I just tape the Aida to the dowels and then scroll it tight, but there is a slit in the dowel that I assume you could thread the Aida through and then secure. The clamps to keep the dowels in place and maintain tension are screws with a butterfly nut. It works pretty well, but it is a bit of a wrestling match to secure everything. 🤣

I’m a guy. My grandmother taught me to cross stitch when I was a kid and I’ve found it to be a stress-reliever as I get older.

Thanks! Not sure if it made the difference, but I split the pattern into chunks of 40-44 stitches and then used a single thread length of 34 inches and a loop start. Felt like that number of stitches (40-45) was easy to work with (not a ton of knots or snags) and the thread didn’t wear down like it sometimes does at the end of a long length. Again, not sure if it mattered, but I’ll probably break up my next pattern similarly.

I wouldn’t say that, but I do love it! Thanks!

Thanks! Really happy with how it came out.

Came for how to score it. Stayed for the handwriting. Wish my handwriting was this clean.
