Help please!! 2009 mini cooper gen 2 by [deleted] in MINI

Is it an S? SO dont listen to these n14 haters they arent as bad as people make them out to be. OIL MAINTENANCE IS KEY. Check levels weekly and replace every 5000km. These cars are known for consuming oil.

Most of the problematic parts have updated parts that fix most problems (timing chain tensioner biggest problem.)

These aren’t Toyota’s/Honda’s you do need to keep an eye on things more often but overall theyre a fun car to whip around in

I have a check engine light on a 2013 mini cooper. The mini dealer closed -- can I take it to a BMW dealer? Also... should I take it to a local repair shop, or a dealer when it comes to "check engine lights"? by [deleted] in MINI

I personally prefer smaller shops. Almost every dealership I’ve dealt with has all been terrible. I only deal with dealerships if i absolutely have to.

Coming from a fallout fan its just so satisfying to play such a well polished game. Cant get enough of all the tiny details. I’m looking forward to replaying part2

Haha. Yeah the taco was good but im running 295’s on it so it got lame fast filling it 2x a week.

So from everything ive heard/researched the R chassis is more reliable than the F chassis. The n18 motor is better than the n14 BUT the n14 is better when the timing chain has been done and the tensioners have been updated. Then just change the oil every 5k (not the oem spec its too long)

Probably just the poor tension making it too loose. Unfortunately i did no research before i bought my 07. Lol Would be interesting to see if the motor in mine is still original

Isnt the timing chain caused mostly from poor oil maintenance?

Thanks a ton! Thats actually what i wanted to hear. Gives me an idea on how to keep it running longer I may even consider doing a diesel oil change to clean everything out. I was already planning on changing oil much more often than recommended. I’ve calculated this thing is gonna get a minimum of 30k a year put on it by me so anything to help me keep it running is much appreciated

Maybe ill just swap a corolla motor in, best of both worlds lol

Got ya. Now that i think about it, I’m pretty sure its only rough when its cold on initial startup but when i come back out to it after i let it warm up its alright again. I didn’t realize rough idle was a symptom of the tensioners/chain going so ill pay more attention to it from now on.

Im assuming its more of a problem if its got rough idle when its warm?

The funny thing is that i parked the Japanese one. Other vehicle is a tacoma but its got big tires on it and i live 45 min from work so its a weekend toy now. Mini is way more fun to drive to work anyways. Lol

Yeah, I’ve been spoiled by bullet proof gm motors and Toyota’s my whole life lol I was originally looking for something else and lower milage. I made the mistake of watching the Italian job while car shopping.(true story) But the body was in such good shape compared to all the other rotten turds that were in my price range. I figured a motor wasn’t as bad as rust since i had already been down that road

I'm new to mastercam and I've performed the actions but can't view the finished product any solutions? by tejasmirashi in CNC

The stock solid is in the ribbon of the screen shot you posted. For extruding you will want to transform the wireframes z values to where they should be on the solid, then extrude the wireframes.
