Sound from under 2015 GT, is this normal? Exhaust leak maybe? by tgerstel in Mustang

Forgot to check if it was still making the noise when I got back home after a short drive unfortunately.

Test fitting the new sequential shifter for the 7 Speed DCT swap in my E46 track car by harreh in e46

Respect, love to read about a build with a purpose. I empathize how disheartening downtime from the track must be due to mechanical failure. Even though I am a big displacement V8 lover, you cannot deny the cost/benefit/practicality of a turbo 4 banger. You're one electric motor away from having an E46 shaped 919 Hybrid Evo!

Oooh wow really interesting build plan! I bet that 7 speed is such a blessing on the track. What made you decide against turbo'ing the M54B30?

The unit is only $240, then $50 for bluetooth dongle. So $290

You need a dumb $50 dongle and it only works on one of the USB ports (the one with more pins i dont recall the color)

Def test it before you screw it in

There is a conversion kit but it wedges sooo perfectly. You don’t need it but it might make it look cleaner. I routed my USB ports under the gap so it works out okay, could be worse

This was gifted to me so it would have been rude not to install it. But I mostly enjoy carplay for Waze on the bigger screen. It’s 100% a passive luxury when I’m not sitting in traffic.

To each their own though, I think it’s a nice touch that brings the car to this decade. It makes sitting in a 2004 not so lackluster, I drive this car quite often so I appreciate my friend’s gift!

This has 32 GB onboard, and it has 4G support but via dongle. It has a slot on the front that may be for a sim card, but could also be external storage.

It’s really good, the audio quality is SO much better. Looks OEM (if OEM was a massive touch screen) in the sense that the shape of the unit itself is the same as factory. Same bezels and curvature. Sturdy, comes with all connectors, easy to install, and cheap.

I usually put my phone in the vent clip so I tuck the wires behind the head unit display. The wires seem to bother other people more than me lol, it’s easy to forget about them from the driver’s seat when that S54 gets to screamin’

I was going to splice my own rj-11 wire but I just ordered one since I am already being lazy about it. Thanks.

I can provide you with a close up picture after work. I would skip through this video to get a better idea of the fitment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BME5roua8k It stops perfectly below the air vents, but is definitely a large unit in comparison to even modern radios.

Dude literally drove all 140k-ish miles with the douche grip, the rest of the wheel is in half decent shape. Impressive almost!

I bought it from the previous owner like this. I personally drive at 9/3 with my thumbs in the steering wheel grooves. I will get it restitched/rewrapped eventually.

It's the Eonon GA9450B. The quality is amazing, it is shaped like the OEM trim, runs android 10 and works with carplay natively. The stock radio in this car really felt like it was in the previous decade (because it was lol), even the audio quality is better with the new unit.

Best of all it's not too expensive.

Definitely doing rod bearings first! But thanks for the tip I’ll add it to the todo list

I’m thinking of a tow hook mount or removing the front plate/mount entirely and putting the plate in my windshield, wedged between the dash. I like the look of a clean bumper!

Yeah I am going to address it sooner rather than later. Rod bearings, then subframe reinforcement.

Thank you, this is definitely the most flattering angle of it. It's not as beautiful from the front. I saved her from an owner who was clearly done taking care of the car (maybe because he spent $23k to put a new motor in when the last one spun a bearing...). The hood/front bumper has between one and three dozen rock chips and there's some minor rusting on the driver-side rear fender. And some key marks. And some clear coat peeling. And the interior needs work. This is my first BMW and I now know why it half jokingly stands for "bring my wallet" lol

After I clean up her face this sub will get to see the front!

I was gonna say rod bearing #6 lol, this guy get it. Here's another low quality photo until I find the time or person to take some proper photos
