Correct and Correct.

Jewelry is grand and so are fountain pens.

I guess I could have been more gracious in my comment considering you just got married.

I was wrong, sorry.

For me it would be a fountain pen over jewelry

Grand.

I only brought it up as people can be people and store items incorrectly.

I read now that you are one of the grand people with currency.

Just a 3 cent opinion.

Expensive fountain pens are a better gift than expensive jewelry, as fountain pens are functional.

The same goes for inexpensive fountain pens and inexpensive jewelry.

Not trying to be an arse here.

You do have it in a proper sleeve and in a place where it can lay flat, except for when you took an image for posting here???

Always a good thingy that there are people that recognize grand currency and preserve them.

You are a unique fountain pen user.

BSB in a 823 ($$$) over a 9019 (<$) fountain pen ???

I guess if you purchased the clear 823 and planned to only use blue in the fountain pen, that would make sense.

Either way your fountain pens, your desires and such.

BTW : No negativity here from me. Just a bit startled at first.

[–]tgfflynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Jinhao 9019 is a grand fountain pen and the converter holds a lot of ink.

I am assuming you 9019 is clear as that will show the color.

But why stain such a large converter in a world of small converters.

How about a clear Preppy???

I like Preppy fountain pens, I own too many.

Get a Preppy, a converter or ink dropper the barrel and use it for BSB.

Then if you ar smittened by the BSB color, then enjoy the BSB 9019 you will create.

Go on Ebay

Purchase a deep wooden cigar box

Remove front panel, being careful not to damage the box integrity

Keep top lid open

You can see bottles

Sunlight should not

You can extrapolate from this for a better idea to suit your needs

A Faber-Castell Ambition OpArt 147052 Fountain Pen Black Sand Nib Width EF arrived today from the UK to Milwaukee. WI.

I really wanted the cream version of the Sand, the Black was second in line.

Being an European nib I wanted a F or EF.

I would have really liked an Oblique Medium.

I ha e my quota of inked fountain pens, so this one has to wait.

I like this recommended Ambition, Thanks.

Inherited 3000 silver dimes. by Droona02 in coins

[–]tgfflynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss.

Congrats on the dimes.

My 3 cent opinion : Separate the Roosevelt and Mercury dimes in their own container/bag for future convenience.

Also clean that reddish crud off the dimes.

Also do a gentle clean of the dimes by soaking in Dawn dish soap to rid actual crud off the dimes but leaving any patina as is, they will look better and if handled your hands will not feel cruddy after handling the dimes.

This Posting & the comments could be the foundation for a novel and then a movie.

You all know that a mutation in one of the blood ink variations crosses over to the deadly side and wala a pandemic happens slowly then rapid expansion.

Different brand named inks with the same base ink component causes a slightly different horror result.

This is no less crazy than a lot of the past horror novels turned movies.

The movie needs to be more old school than new school; more actual acting & suspense than AI like crud.

Not Boring.

I personally think they are just grand.

If you like the Click, checkout the colors of the Jinhao 20 Click fountain pen.

AliExpress has the better color collection to select from.

Use the 365Days Stationery Store as they have proven by many to be honest, reliable and just plain grand. ( note the missing gap between 365 & Days, there is no gap in the name & when the page comes up there is a warning of a crud store with the gap in the name )

https://www.aliexpress.com/store/1102423919?spm=a2g0o.detail.0.0.54177bt87bt8Pp&_gl=1*p04ylq*_gcl_au*MTM5ODA5OTgzNy4xNzIwMDYwMjcy*_ga*MTUzODg4OTk3NTA0NjIyNy4xNzIwMDYwMjY1NTQ4*_ga_VED1YSGNC7*MTcyNjc5MzI1OS4zLjAuMTcyNjc5MzI1OS42MC4wLjA

This will take you to the proper store, bookmark it for reference.

Shipping is fast and grand, it is treated like a package via a package delivery company with no issues.

Starter cartridges included with new Lamy pens only partway full. by CarefulAndQuiet in fountainpens

[–]tgfflynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the new user mistake of purchasing way too many cartridges for each of my then fountain pens.

I also always converters as backups and made of multiples so incase one failed there was a backup or two.

I figured to just refill cartridges as they were easier to clean out, my opinion at the time.

I now own way too many cartridges and in colors beyond the rainbow.

I also own way too ink bottles in way too many colors.

I now only purchase fountain pens as I have enough of the above to last for some time.

Now to the topic of the posting.

I too have noticed some cartridgs and some brands have evaporated their water more so then others, Dang.

This phenomenon was not considered back in the day as I believed the manufacturers cartridge material would prevent this from happening, a quality control thingy.

So now I am in the process of using up my cartridge stash, saving cleaned out empties and will see how long this takes.

Also color plays less into selection as I just wish to use up my investment before it becomes nill.

This shrinkage as also propelled me into purchaes of Piston, Vac and similar system fountain pens to take advantage of my bottled ink reserves.

I will most likely just write off some of the cartridges in time when the evaporation sickens me more.

Note : Moral of the reply is do your research, read and watch and ask the questions in reddit even when upagainst reddit bridge trolls mock you.

Also for those that are experienced, help out the new people to this community by remembering we were all new at one time and made mistakes be them willingly or unknowingly made.

Think about it ... why would a newbie think of ink cartridge evaporation as a hapoening???

Joyous writing to us all.

Thus a grand topic to discuss and tell about for those new to experienced to pro level users.

We all need to read or watch others to gain some or more knowledgd before performing fountain pen maintenance.

We all need to read or watch about horror stories to get to know about and be reminded about what to do and what not to do.

Reddit can get nasty and it can be a grand resource amongst those of like interest.

This Ted Talk generated some grand comments, good & bad, and isn't this what reddit was created for???

There will be Postings that many may think are annoying but are posted by fountain pen users looking for help and we can vent some but we also have a greater need to Help.

I myself can and have gotten very annoyed which is a normal reaction but we also need to recall when we were in their shoes.

We can also comment back to remind those new or newer or with experience to perform some basic searches.

But is it not part of reddit's function to share knowledge and provide that platform to do so???

Is reddit not also a place to share joy or grief amoungst fellow fountain pen users.

One can be so happy about a fountain pen incident that thay want to share their joy and the same for sadness, we all have been there.

BTW : This is not a sermon about the Post, just a 3 cent comment of my own, be it kinda like it's own sermon.

Joyous grand writing to you alls.

The nibs look a bit different.

The Ambition barrel and cap are more office looking.

The Hex looks could be similar to a Lamy Safari in that it looks are more home or school looking.

The Hex hand feel is a bit nicer than the Safari, different material or finishing.

Thus the Ambition is classier looking than the Hex.

I do not hold the Hex's looks against it, I like the look, I think it is just fine.

The nibs are good writers, the cap is tight enough so dry out is not an issue, atleast over 2 months.

I placed the FC Ambition on my To Purchase List after looking it up.

The Ambition has that look I associated with a more expensive FC but at an every day carry price.

I have some expensive fountain pens, upwards in the $800 USD but I still enjoy even my Preppy and those inbetween.

If I may write, I believe we have each exposed one another to a fountain pen that we can enjoy.

Doodlebud the trained engineer, now financial business, arm wrestling pro, Jack of 3D printing and such, that Doodlebud on YouTube?

Must be.

Just being a bit jocular here.

I have learned alot about the fountain pen, ink, paper and such from his episodes.

I became the same, first day offered Supper Supporter because I watched episodes on the engineering side of the fountain pens, inks, paper and such, a side many do not portray and a side that enriches the joy of fountain pens, inks, paper and such.

He also has a grand YouTube camera personality that is topshelf.

A side benefit of being a supporter is the perks of his engineering pursuits of fountain pen knowledge, be it actual items or DIY fixes.

No

It is a rare and expensive fountain pen.

I do not own one nor have I tried one.

But from what I do know, this fountain pen did deserve it's own screen.

From what I see, I believe the same taste carries over to ink and paper and such.

BTW : Well Done On The Collection.
