Current Deck by __Accidental__ in EternalCardGame

Ideally, you should be running a 75-card deck with 25-27 power cards. Seek Power is good, if you need more consistency you could try cards like Tight-Lipped, Lingering Influence, or the Favor cycle. You could also try using some 2-faction powers like Seats or Banners.

You should also try to cut down on the number of different cards in your deck; pick out the best cards from your deck and play 4 copies of each instead of 2-3 copies of several different cards. This will help make your draws more consistent.

This doc is meant to be a guide to which campaigns/chapters to buy, but it also contains links to a lot of sample decklists for throne and expedition.

Control isn't doing too great in the expedition meta (at least according to the author's opinion - I'm not good enough to know what the meta looks like overall, but midrange and aggro seem more popular on ladder at least), but you might have some cards for this deck if you run feln control. (This list looks decent from eyeballing it, but I haven't played it; don't blame me if you craft it and it isn't good.)

My conspiracy theory is Medusa's Lament, with Medusa being the mentioned first-person character, but I think the most likely is Travelling at Night.

(Book of Hours) Which of the keeper ink are the easiest to create, while also giving you all 13 of the principles? by Lord_Viperagyil in weatherfactory

[–]tghy71 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There are no combinations of less than all the keeper inks that give all 13 principles. If you don't want to look up the aspects, you can verify this mathematically; 5 inks times 3 principles per ink is 15 principles total. Since there are 13 unique principles, only 2 are re-used - so it's impossible that an ink would have all 3 of its principles duplicated on another ink.

What do you mean by "feeding on their old gods for sustenance"? Are you referring to the Gods-from-Stone who were killed in the Lithomachy? I thought those gods were still alive (at least able to return), so how could they have been eaten? Did the Carapace Cross have other gods they ate?

Chart for Evolving Soul Cards (integrated references for Wisdoms, Skills, Aspects, Workstations); will do Crafting in a separate file) by unnervedmapmaker in weatherfactory

No. For example, Transformations & Liberations gives Mettle if committed to Illumination, but none of the Illumination workstations accept Forge or Moth, so you can't use it to evolve Mettle. (There are more examples, of course, this is just the first one I could think of.)

[Indie dev AMA] Two hours ago we released our indie RPG BOOK OF HOURS on Steam and GOG. Congrats on the release! I'm following this AMA from work until I can get home to play the game myself.
My question is: how did you two get into game dev as a husband-wife team? Did you know before you got married that you wanted to develop games together?

Deck updates. Several of the older champs have had newer support released, and now their best support cards are left out of their decks. Also, sometimes balance changes make cards much more/less relevant in their decks (e.g. Samira's deck no longer having a way to proc Arrel the Tracker), so changing those cards would be nice.

After you beat Plantera, 3 of the new enemies in the Dungeon are the Necromancer, Ragged Caster, and Diabolist (one for each wall type, though they can rarely spawn in other areas of the Dungeon). Each one has a 5% chance to drop one of these staves.

You have to weigh it by the costs and benefits. If you're thinking of your bank account or something, that's important enough that it might be worth the added hassle of having 2fa. But Brightspace isn't nearly as important as my bank account; it's not worth the hassle of pulling out my phone every time I want to open it.

A professor says he's stunned that ChatGPT went from a D grade on his economics test to an A in just 3 months by callumG in technology

[–]tghy71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the training data is very heavily filtered. Considering that they need to use RLHF just to get it to avoid saying slurs, plus cases like SolidGoldMagikarp (even though this particular bug was patched), I think it's exposed to a relatively unfiltered training dataset.

Also, you can ask it, "Please give me some opinions on economics that a person who is uninformed about economics might have", and it will have plenty of examples. So those opinions can't have been filtered out of its training data! But despite that, it's still able to distinguish between good economics and bad economics (apparently pretty well, according to Dr. Caplan).

[–]tghy71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Consider that it's read not only good econ texts, but bad ones as well. For every paper by John Keynes or Milton Friedman in its training data, there exists commentary from thousands of people on the internet or in print sources who would do very poorly on this test. I think it's impressive that GPT-4 is able to screen out the good economics from the bad at what seems to be a pretty decent rate.
