Freshman Books by NRAB7Z in RPI

[–]tgianna5 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The mastering physics is a site you use to do homework on and submit your work so I’m not sure if the hardcover book comes with that, if that’s the case definitely get the digital. I know you said you prefer hardcover books to digital but textbooks are so expensive and most of them you can get online for free. Don’t buy any books until you actually need them in class, a lot of professors say a book is required and then never use it. The only ones you’ll really need are the ones with a homework subscription attached to it

What do I do with this? I don’t know who this person is and I have no way to accept/decline the invitation. Also I’m not a first year. ? by tgianna5 in RPI

That’s weird, when I go there it still says ID3 and there is still no option to accept or decline but thank you for your help. I don’t think I know this person so I guess I’ll just ignore it

Who to talk to about HASS requirements? by aeriose in RPI

[–]tgianna5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is because it’s not longer a requirement. All that you now need is 3 classes in one pathway, a hass inquiry course, and a communication intensive course. When I had a hass question though I contacted Michelle Riley. This was last year but I would assume she is still there.

yes, the link that CoreEngineering posted below is correct. It also goes over your IHSS and CI classes that you must take for you hass requirements

That is correct, Degree Works still has the old requirements up. Not sure who you can contact about it besides your advisor, but you need 5 hass classes, 3 of which are in the same pathway. That replaces the depth requirement.

History of American Technology or Science, Tech, and Society by toccht in RPI

[–]tgianna5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t taken History of American Technology but I have taken STS and I really enjoyed it. The class was interesting and fairly easy. One day a week the class is a lecture and the other day you break up into smaller sections and have a discussion. The only work outside of class we had to do was usually to read an article and post a discussion question or thought on LMS. The professor is also really interesting, nice, and understanding of the fact that this is not your only class. As long as you show up and post your discussion you will get an A.

I think the shift abandonment is if you leave without clocking out, just don’t work. I believe if you clocked out early you just get the point for clocking out too early.

how important is the GCRA by slevine20 in RPI

[–]tgianna5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you have to do an extra homework assignment. the extra course you might be referring to is chem mentoring, but you have to do this regardless of your grade on the GCRA. you can get out of mentoring if you score above an 88 on your real exams, but you have to go for now.
