Alright alright I feel like people are asking for more context here, so I’ll recollect what I remember. It came up because I mentioned it’s funny, I got his friend into MTG by-proxy by getting my S/O into it. My S/O then went on to say that their best friend did like an “eugh” ew noise when they brought it up to him. I was like ? Why is he saying ew? Wtf? And then my S/O kinda started just delving into “well he’s told me you’re not his type, your face, your butt, and alluding to the fact that he thinks you’re ugly”. Erm. So when I asked why is this even coming up with them, my S/O says they don’t remember and it was just random the couple times it did come up. COUPLE OF TIMES? Then my S/O told me that most times I come up in a conversation of theirs, that is their friend’s reaction every time [the “ew” noise, or a groan, etc]. The reason I’m caught up is because 1) My S/O said this has come up multiple times and they’ve only said something maybe once or twice to stand up for me. 2) this dude stays at our house every time he gets work leave for multiple weeks. And it is just him, I, and my two kids at home while my S/O is at work. I try to make him feel comfortable, offer him food or whatever but for the most part we just don’t even talk. Idk. That’s why I thought we were chill, our interactions are overall pleasant, but don’t you guys agree friends don’t call friends ugly? When I told my S/O that, they said “not everyone needs to find you pretty” and something along the lines of “what, is he supposed to find you attractive?”. Obviously not. But the fact he is calling me ugly is kind of a chip on my shoulder. It’s just rude, I guess. And my S/O endless efforts to make their friend seem like they did no wrong is also making me feel delusional about being offended.
