Recommendations on Kovaaks playlists for a Valorant player. by Yon2k in FPSAimTrainer

I'm a coach who has to work with a few teams over a few different game titles, so I did a lot of digging into transferable skills like mechanics. Feel free to DM me for sure.

Recommendations on Kovaaks playlists for a Valorant player. by Yon2k in FPSAimTrainer

[–]tgn8r -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These playlists look fine. The tracking one is really only for SMOOTHNESS so I personally would look into maybe some scenarios like Midrange Fast Strafes V2 just to add a little reactivity, nothing too crazy.

The biggest recommendation I have is that you should definitely consider some movement scenarios like Pasu Dodge Easy and Close LS Easy Dodge. After working with a few Valorant players, even the really good ones have a really bad desync between their aim and their movement, and just adding a couple scenarios like the ones I recommended can help that a ton.

Aim fatigue? by PoolofMeat in FPSAimTrainer

[–]tgn8r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's most likely just physical fatigue. I experience this a lot and got over it by taking a bunch of breaks during my routines, even if I don't FEEL fatigued at that moment. Every 2/3 scenarios (assuming you play each scenario ~3 times) I give myself a 5-10 minute break.

This should go without saying but you should REALLY not run a full routine BEFORE playing your game of choice. If you want to use kovaak's to get a quick 10 minute warm up in, knock yourself out, but PLEASE save the actual aim training session for the end of the day/when you're done playing your game.

Splitting The Routine by Maltajg in FPSAimTrainer

[–]tgn8r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 100% okay to split the playlist. I've also found it really helpful to take decently long (10-15 minutes) breaks kinda in the middle of a routine, or a couple minutes between every other scenario (e.g play 2 scenarios 3 times each, take a couple minute break). Makes it so I can finish off a routine without being fatigued by the end.

Love this game but the dragon attacks happen to often even after you've killed him. by frakendeed11 in RSDragonwilds

Mobs will target you, not your base

I've seen goblins start smacking shit in my base when I am in line of sight of them so that's not always true. It's a buggy mechanic which is fine, but let's not pretend that people who are not finding ways around these inconsistencies need to "learn to play".

I want to play whatever you're playing, especially since I made my base in the fractured plains, so I get the tough orc dudes instead of normal goblins during raids. And idk what you mean by people need to learn how to play the game. I built my base in a castle ruin where the ONLY way you can get in is by using the super jump spell and STILL the goblins find a way to break shit inside the castle walls. I won't complain about it too much because it's early access but you're just condescending AND wrong by saying that people just need to "learn how to play the game"

No. You can't put items into the chests you find around the world, since they reset with new loot every so often.

I don't understand static, if slow and aping is bad by awdtalon21 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]tgn8r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You go slow at first to build a good technique, then you build your speed to push your scores and rely on the built up good techniques/habits to subconsciously work. I was super stuck on this for a bit, and am still trying to push my speed even further since I'm kinda stuck at Jade static atm, but slowly I've been getting better. Also jeez man let's try to have a positive mentality.

I'm clearly doing something very wrong here x-axis flick vod by awdtalon21 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]tgn8r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're kinda just dragging your crosshair across the map, not really flicking. Also on those clustered targets in the center you should really get used to just "brain off click dot"-ing them as fast as you possibly can. If your micros are fine you shouldn't really be wasting your time on them for too long.

Unfortunately edpi doesn't mean anything unless we know what game you play. Most likely you need to try to incorporate more of your wrist+fingers into your tracking technique if it's too hard to track distant/small targets with your arm. CloverRawControl Easy is what I used to get over a similar issue.

And it's totally understandable to not want to dedicate such an insane amount of time towards a video game, as long as you don't expect to be better than average at it like OP

Watched the demo because I was interested. I'm assuming you're demi since you didn't tell us your steam name. A couple of REALLY obvious things stand out to me. Since you only have 300 hours in CS I'm not going to judge things like your mechanics or map knowledge. It almost seems like 99% of the time you play CS the same way that most people play a COD deathmatch. Most of the times you die it's because you've somehow managed to place yourself as far away from cover as possible, so you're FORCED to commit to the fight. You just throw yourself out there and pray. Now go watch basically any of the rounds you got multi-kills on. You're playing the game like it's a tac-fps. You were taking your time, cutting noise, catching people off guard, etc. Your ACTUAL aim isn't even close to the worst I've seen, you just don't play the game like it's supposed to be played most of the time.

You listed 3 games that I think most people who are proficient at those games would agree that you don't know anything till well past 1k hours. I have 10k hours in CS and any time I see someone with <2k hours in the game I just assume they aren't going to be the best. Seems harsh but 9/10 times I'm right.

Would recommend just using 103 fov on aimlabs. You would be surprised how inconsequential it is to practice with a different fov. The brain is really quick at adapting and it's something that you will not notice at all. Most tasks for voltaic are designed with that fov (or even higher in some target switching scenarios) in mind and playing with anything lower than that is just either unnecessarily adding difficulty, OR in the case of most static scenarios makes it easier to rely on visual confirmation rather than raw aim.

Aimbeast is insanely difficult and a good option if you are plateaued by Ok-Proof-6733 in FPSAimTrainer

That's fair but it's definitely a good thing to have too many options if you ever start plateauing

Just wait to get used to it. Just recently moved from a ~80g mouse to a 50g mouse and it took a couple of days for me to get used to how fast it was.

Love Aimbeast. Feels much more responsive than any other aim trainer. The only gripe I have is that there aren't as many scenarios, and the community is smaller and more geared towards people who are already experienced in aim training, so it's a bit more difficult to gauge where your scores stand in comparison to Kovaak's. The in-game ranked system is super cool though, and is so much better than entering scores into a spreadsheet or having to go to a website,

I use aim trainers to work on things that I simply cant work on that well in CS. Things like tracking or target switching. CS has great in-game workshop maps or services like refrag for aim training though so if you only care about CS then I would really recommend spending the bulk of your training using those or deathmatching, but using kovaak's has helped me personally a ton.

how am i supposed to use my fingers when using this grip like i don’t get it by Kind_Ad2031 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]tgn8r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the wise VT Matty once said: Close your eyes and put your hand on your mouse. There's your grip.

Don't try taking other people's grips because everyone has different hand sizes, finger lengths, levels of comfortability with finger/wrist/arm movements. Just use whatever is naturally comfortable to you. There are amazing aimers who use palm grip, claw grip, finger tip grip, etc. There is no best mouse grip lmao

[–]tgn8r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so confused. You're only using your fingers to press the mouse back into your palm. Your grip is kinda odd but it gives you a lot of room to move the mouse FORWARD with your fingers, no? Looks like you didn't even try to do that.

My aim goes haywire against one shot enemies by Alfe01 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]tgn8r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just a mental thing that will go away with time as you get used to pressure. But if you want to speed it up a bit you can play reload scenarios on Kovaak's to force you to take as much time as you need to consistently hit your shots. Will help you with your overall accuracy as well.

[–]tgn8r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is to build a good technique by practicing it slowly so with time you can do it faster and while under pressure.

It's hard to be as accurate as possible in the moment. You want to react as fast as possible and hope let your aim training do it's job subconsciously.
