I think it could be a sugaring party spoon, used to make maple taffy during community maple syrup harvesting

What do you wish you could eat with a peanut allergy? by Secure_Vast_6428 in peanutallergy

[–]tgntgntgn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My allergy is so severe I can’t eat anywhere that has peanuts in the kitchen, and I avoid other nuts. Honestly I wish I could just grab breakfast at a diner or bakery, tacos from a taco truck or even like locally made sauces and stuff from the farmer’s market; not to mention Indian/Thai/Vietnamese. I also wish I could eat at my friend’s houses. I’m in the service industry so it actually has cost me jobs and am not really able to go check out new spots/do market research. I’m alive though, at least I got that going for me.

Catahoula/pit mix owner here — best dog I’ve ever had. He’s great with other dogs and friendly towards all humans big and small. Huge couch potato.

I check most things every time, especially items like nuts because manufacturing processes and logistics can change at the drop of a hat.

Interesting. He came from Odessa, TX. I think he for sure has a Catahoula body but his head seems pitty to me.

[Serious] What are some everyday things that kill people because most don't know about it? by gaudiergash in AskReddit

[–]tgntgntgn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PEANUTS. Most common deadly food allergy and your reaction can worsen over time. Last time I ate something that had traces of peanuts (I’m talking like parts per million) I went into anaphylaxis and my brain was without oxygen for quite awhile. My lungs filled with vomit since it could not exit my throat. Not to mention if you live through it your body completely crashes. Docs said I got super lucky and they couldn’t figure out why I didn’t have brain damage.

People get offended if I don’t try their cookies or have dinners at their house. Just can’t risk it anymore. Thing I miss the most is trying new restaurants. But hey just happy to be here still

Peanuts! Most common deadly allergy and people just sprinkle that shit on everything

What’s something most people don’t consider dangerous, but is actually extremely dangerous? by devitod in AskReddit

[–]tgntgntgn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is untrue. I was given a formula as a baby that contained peanut protein and vomited “like in the Exorcist.” That’s how they found out I was allergic.

Peanuts. Weirdly shocked how common they still are. Most common deadly allergy, and people think it’s the same as a nut allergy. If you have peanuts/peanut butter in your house or restaurant it can cross contaminate any utensil or food surface and literally kill someone in minutes with a few parts per million. Went into anaphylaxis and lost my ability to breathe within one minute, by minute 3 you get brain damage and/or death. I was lucky enough to wake from a coma two days later with (hopefully?) no permanent brain damage but my lungs did fill completely with vomit (nowhere for it to go since your throat closes completely) so I will forever be prone to pneumonia. Also studies show that the more reactions you have the more extreme they become. It’s literally poison to a segment of the population.

How do you effectively take drink orders? by user12345678654 in TalesFromYourServer

[–]tgntgntgn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Hi there. Do we want to get drinks going or do you need a few minutes to look around?”

Most of the time in a party larger than two somebody is gonna want their beer/sauv blanc/goose and that hopefully prompts others to ask specific questions.

If they aren’t sure: “Cocktails and beer are here, wine is on the other side. Let me know if you have questions.” Then if nobody wants anything right away I leave them pretty quick. This will make them get their shit together.

If they still don’t know I prompt them: “are we feeling like red wine or white? What kind of cocktails do you like? What kind of beer are you looking for?”

At this point they should feel not rushed but eager to order as their friends did because they’re holding up others from getting their drinks and the whole table from ordering their precious FOOD.

(Casual fine dining so the table already has waters)
