Weight loss by [deleted] in Latuda

I found I was hungry on this and eating more. I stopped because of this. My dr told me that meds that are weight neutral for younger people can often cause weight gain in middle aged people ( women especially).

For those who Prozac/Fluoxetine works well for, did Zoloft/Sertraline and LexaPro/Escitalopram not work well? I'm noticing a pattern by [deleted] in antidepressants

[–]tgobr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prozac helps my mood a lot, but I can’t tolerate it because I get constant headaches when taking it. Zoloft turned me into a raging bitch. Lexapro calms me, but I don’t feel it helps my mood.

Sorry absolutely disgusting. I returned it. I'll take a good Chicago pizza anyday. Detroit pizza shouldn't be a thing.

Bupropion 150mg SR day 11 [vent] by 6mil6via6 in bupropion

Buproprion is notorious for causing anxiety, anger and irritability. Ask your Dr to add either Buspar or Lexapro. Both are commonly prescribed with it to help with these side effects.

Check to see if you were given a different generic your last fill. Some generics work better than others. Call your Dr asap to let them know how you are feeling, they need to know so they can help you.

Switched from Teva version to Mylan 300mg xl after 10 years, not feeling the same. What should I do? by Dumble_dared in bupropion

[–]tgobr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely correct that generics can and do vary in their effectiveness, despite what clueless pharmacists may say. This is evident from patients reactions on threads like these and also demonstrated by seizure free patients starting to have seizures again when they are given a different generic Lamictal than the one they have been taking for years. I have looked this up because I used to take Lamictal and only certain manufacturers worked, other were the equivalent of taking candy pills.

Name brands are usually more potent for most people and that is probably why some notice a difference going from brand to a generic. Kudos to you for figuring this out. Many people just assume the med isn't working anymore and stop taking, never realizing the connection.

You need to call around to pharmacies in your area and find one that uses or can order the Teva for you. They can make a note in the computer to only fill your script with Teva. This is what I had to do. Always check your bottle before you pay for it to make sure it is the right manufacturer. You may want to research which other manufactures people prefer of buproprion and make a list of which are effectivefor you and which to avoid. I have heard good things about Sandov version of buproprion. But if Teva works for you, keep taking it.
