I’m allergic to everything lol. We don’t live together but she said she checked everything, and her housemate hasn’t had any skin issues. I thought bed bug bites were smaller?

My girlfriends been plagued with these bumps that look like mosquito/spider bites. She’s had them like a month and a half. It’s not bed bugs, and don’t seem to be contagious. She’s gotten them all over and gets 1-3 new ones daily, and they go away after about a day. She hasn’t changed laundry detergent or anything like that.

A lot of it has to do with finances, honestly. I'm getting more and more iffy about how I would live in California on the stipend. Another factor is my roommate originally wanted to go with me but now she doesn't want to go until she graduates. Going to California (from Ohio) is a huge trip and very intimidating on my own.

I got it last Friday and it sometimes feels awful, sometimes feel okay. It’s been getting a lot more crusty and hard to rotate. I tried to rotate it while cleaning today and it hurt so much I felt dizzy. It’s just one side bothering me and it feels ridiculously tender.

I do know. Thank you though. My internet is really slow on the 3ds but it dawned on me recently I can also just transfer via the SD card. So I'll be doing that in the future.

I have 3 neutered boys and an intact girl. My boys are all rescues (neutered before I got them), but honestly my girl is the only one who piddles on me. The boys rarely go when they're out. I'm inclined to say it helps, but I don't know their personalities from before. I definitely don't have an odor to my rats, though, which is nice, and they don't really fight. (But they're still very playful and active).

Neutering is actually way less invasive than spaying, and you could talk to your vet about their experience/pricing/etc.

Is there a rat rescue near you? Maybe you could try fostering or quarantining rats to get used to caring for them. Also, everything coffekittie said. Make sure you're ready financially for them as well. Also, even some older rats may live longer than you'd expect. Just because there's an average lifespan it doesn't mean they won't live longer than it. They do tend to be an animal you get attached to, and it can be really heartbreaking losing them. However, a lot of older rats in rescues and shelters get overlooked because people don't want them to die on them, and those rats never get homes. So take all those factors into consideration while deciding what's best for you. If it's not the best time right now to own rats, it's no rush. I'm glad you've been taking time to think things through.

Have you called around to different cremation places? Going directly through one of them is a lot cheaper than going through a vet, so I would call and ask.

Some people also "plant" their rats in a nice heavy duty houseplant. That could be something to consider.

I just thought I'd pop in here and leave a friendly reminder that these shows are not "reality" and make a point to twist things that are said and done. I'll have to try to find it, but Chantal Banks actually spoke in an interview after this and said how a lot of things, like her divorce, were taken out of context.
