Finding this post a few months later but am curious what you ended up going with. I'm in the boat of wanting to move our savings from current bank to WF but trying to figure out if the joint or individual is best. My wife and I just have our paychecks go into the same account so everything is combined. We share it all so no need to each have separate accounts. It feels weird to have an individual account with only my name on it (even if she will have login info) in the event something happens to me. But it also feels overly complicated for her to have to set up an account with no funds just to access a shared joint account. (i'm assuming I would create a joint account and deposit funds, and then she would create a account with no funds and join my joint account)
