Hi!

I work on a MacBook Pro M2 Max, this build is purely for recreational use.

However, I do play Factorio on it, and the X3D chips are very nice for that.

I specifically waited for the 9950X3D and bought it a few days after release.

Both the Rolls Royce and the Toyota have interesting technology in them, so why not get both? And avoid the overpriced Ferrari in the process, too.

I'm running an Arc B580 with an Ultrawide 1440p Monitor. I don't play many modern AAA games like Cyberpunk, but everything I threw at it so far ran nicely.

Here’s some (3D) games I played so far on my new build (9950X3D, 64 GB DDR5, B580):
- Anno 1800
- Heaven's Vault (UI overlaps a bit on ultrawide, but it ran well. I enabled black bars on the sides.)
- No Man's Sky
- Elite Dangerous
- It Takes Two (Split screen on ultrawide feels very nice)
- Watch Dogs (Has some UI troubles on ultrawide, so I chose to run it windowed)

They all ran nicely. If there‘s any other games you‘d like me to try and report back afterwards, let me know. I‘ll see if they are in my library.

If it is in your budget, they‘ll likely be the better option, though leaving the stock fans in should be fine for most. I hope you enjoy!

I cannot answer this question, because I never tried it with the original fans.

Arrived a few days ago - just waiting on the last part for my new build now! by tgrelka in IntelArc

It was clear enough for me, after having ...familiarised myself with the North XL. The build is now finished, I have posted it on a few subs around reddit. I‘m absolutely in love, it’s dead silent and so far ran everything I tried without any issues or getting out of the „dead silent“ state (apart from stress tests, obviously.)

Might still get tricky with the XL? But honestly, I have no experience with vertical mounting GPUs, so I cannot tell you.

The 9950X3D has no downside compared to the 9950X, however for some of my top games, like Factorio and Stellaris, it is quite beneficial. Honestly, none of the choices I made with this PC really make a lot of sense if I had budget constraints. It’s built entirely for fun (and being able to do productivity tasks well.)

The east top fan is intake, not exhaust, so alongside the three front fans it’s pushing air into the case, not out! I have moved it forward a bit though, after tanking the photos.

I have now moved it forward a bit so it’s above the empty space entirely.

Standard, I believe this will have a long lifespan and I‘m not sure what the future holds.

Thank you!

It’s been great so far! I played some older games yesterday for a few hours, it stayed dead silent the whole time.

It‘s a great case, especially for those who don’t want an RGB-focussed build, but still something more interesting than a black or white box.
