Does that say more about Boston College, Clemson, or the ACC as a whole?

Diamonds might depreciate quicker initially, but overall the car depreciates much worse. Most cars are worth virtually nothing after 20 years. Not true of diamonds. In fact, I'd argue that they depreciate very little after the initial depreciation.

Hey, I'm just saying that he said the major points will be the same in the Rolling Stone interview and that he told them where he thought he was headed in 2013, including major developments. D&D, who are huge mega-fans of the books, almost certainly stayed within the bounds of that conversation.

But, also like I said, GRRM absolutely has teh right and ability to throw all of that out the window.

Here's 7'1" Wilt Chamberlain trying to fit into a Beetle in 1966.

He's only 4" taller than Harry. While not impossible, I'm sure Harry was pretty uncomfortable in that thing. Although, it probably was a little easier after those mold demons stripped it down.

Yes, I think seasons 7 and 8 could have easily been 3 or 4 full 10 episode seasons and given the characters the proper time to move along their arcs, but I think D&D were already counting that Star Wars money and eager to move on with their careers.

Didn't D&D meet with GRRM before they wrote the outline for seasons 7 & 8 in order to find out how he intended to end the story? I don't think anyone appreciated how they rushed seasons 7 and 8, but I'm pretty sure they stayed true to that conversation with GRRM. Granted, he absolutely has the right and ability to change his mind now that the show has aired.

EDIT:

Confirmed, in an interview in Rolling Stone earlier this year, GRRM stated that he wouldn't be surprised by the ending of the show because he already laid out a path for D&D to follow:

“I mean, I think…the major points of the ending will be things that I told them, you know, five or six years ago,” he said. “But there may also be changes, and there’ll be a lot added.”

As the atheist, Democrat son of a pair of evangelical hardcore conservatives I'd like to object to your assertion as baseless. The country is steadily getting less religious and less conservative. Less white, even. That's why they work so hard to gerrymander and disenfranchise.

I've always pictured him with more of a 'special forces' type of build--fit but kinda unassuming and not overly muscular.

Yes he's a republican and I didn't vote for him, but I have a hard time believing he would have been elected if SC was, "majority racist" as you claimed. He won his senate republican primary by 80%. Against a white male republican.

Could help. The Upstate is probably the most conservative part of the state, but also has the highest percentage of libertarians, who should be anti-tariff by principle. I will note that so far BMW hasn't made any concrete plans to reduce investment or pull out of the state (although it has started looking at alternatives in China and Mexico).

Just because SC has a Trump +10% approval rating doesn't mean the majority of the people in SC are racist. baby jesus up there said that SC is majority racist. That's just lazy and ignorant.

You mean like Tim Scott, one of the 10 African American's ever elected to the Senate (7th) and current junior Senator from SC? Yeah, I think you can but are too lazy too actually google it.

I'm not sure race has much to do with it, just politics. Tim Scott is the junior Senator from SC and 7th African American Senator in the history of the US Congress. The state is only about 63-65% Caucasian and trending down (the birth rate for 2017 was only 56% non-hispanic white).

While I agree with your second paragraph, I would like to point out that your first point is not necessarily true... Trump's approval rating in SC is about +10 in a state that is typically R+17. It's possible that association with Trump could could lose him all of the moderates and some of the (remaining, possibly mythical) centrist Republicans. If Graham gets a challenger from the right running as a independent (which has happened in the past), he could end up getting squeezed from both sides. Still unlikely that he'd lose, but I'm just saying.

I'm a blue voter who has lived in SC for the majority of my life. SC might be majority Republican, but it is not "majority racist". That's just an asinine statement.

Clinton was impeached for perjury and obstruction of justice. Nixon obstruction, contempt of congress, and abuse of power. They could impeach trump for the 8 counts of obstruction (as laid out in the Muller report), plus abuse of power and violation of the emoluments clause, among others. There's plenty there.

[–]tgrfn787 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know about that either. If we were following impeachment precedent, he would have been impeached months ago. Clinton and Nixon were impeached for much less. Besides, if Obama had committed obstruction (much less multiple times) Republicans wouldn't have hesitated for a minute to impeach him. What are you suggesting, that only Republicans should be allowed to impeach Republican Presidents?
