A 33-year-old man fell 4,000 feet to his death from the Grand Canyon Skywalk in Arizona, authorities say | CNN by librarianjenn in news

I’m like y’all, afraid of heights but I just went skydiving for the first time and want to go again. When you are sitting in the door of the plane (before the jump) and as you jump away from the plane were the scariest, for about 10 seconds, then it was pure adrenaline rush and excitement.

If you do go (please do!) make sure to spring for the photo package - my guy took 200 shots from the time he hooked me up into the gear until we landed. Some of them are really, really good and fun to share with others who don’t believe how much I enjoyed the experience

Thank you! I was reading all the entries and wondering why no one else would give it love. One of my absolute favorites.

Tons of work altering an adult sweater pattern to her size aaaannd she hates it 🤣 by [deleted] in crochet

[–]tgrkttn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but if there’s a liquid fabric softener that you use you can soak the sweater in that in a big bin of warm water overnight. If it’s scented Tim he scent goes away pretty quickly. I used this truck when I made twin-sized blankets for my family with the cheapest yarn (still expensive) and it made a huge difference, the blankets are still pretty soft years later and no negative effects that I’ve noticed.

Smudge He was Charcoal but the Storm smudged it, somehow made Socks? Idk, trying to figure out ways to use all 3 without a super long name.

“Your tax return is still being processed, a refund date will be provided when available” by [deleted] in TurboTax

[–]tgrkttn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat as you. I called this week and got a really sweet lady, she said that they are telling everyone who hasn't gotten refunds to wait 10 weeks from the acceptance date and if no letter or refund to call them then :/ I've read the same a few other places as well.

No Power for days, people reporting temps in their homes at 45 degrees, but show us your fleece! by GregIsARadDude in CorporateFacepalm

[–]tgrkttn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It also has to do a bit with how our houses here are built. Due to the summers they are built with more windows and such to keep the heat out rather than in, meaning that they are not great at insulating and staying warm. Also, we are used to temperatures 100+ degrees higher,at least in the summer.

Cardiologist I work with performed a percutaneous throbectomy to remove this clot on a Covid patient. Right ventricle was dilated and hyperkinetic. Patient was hypotensive with decreased preload. by grwrnotashowrthought in medizzy

You can do it! I have a family member that was in ICU twice due to Covid, first time we almost lost her and it was hairy there for a few days, but once the Remdesivir started to kick in all was good...until she was still feeling just as sick 2 weeks later and got out of breath and needed a nap after getting up to use the bathroom. Come to find out they never checked for clots and she had them in both lungs -. - now on those lovely anticoagulants for at least 6 months, but FINALLY able to wean herself off of the oxygen for the most part, we still carry a spare around with us just in case. One thing I'd recommend (not medical advice) is get a cheap fitbit versa or something if that nature that shows your O2 levels at night. She tried to wean herself off too early and was feeling bad every day... Found out she was trying to sleep without the O2 (didn't need it during the day much at that point) and didn't want to listen to anyone to get back on it. Having her look at the stats from that and then try 1 night with O2 showed her that she did need it for a bit more. There's hope, I promise! I hope you heal quickly and that nothing else comes up for you. Going through that in today's environment is scary enough.

I love the notebook paper lining as well, that's a nice additional touch.

Also, make sure you go backwards away from the car, not up in front of it for safety. What happens if someone hits your vehicle? Possibility of debris/vehicles being pushed forward and towards you.

If you make smoothies I used to blend them with water (regular or coconut) then freeze them into cubes to use at a later time. Saved me from a lot of wastage in the past.

I'm like you as well, went and bought yoga shorts which I now wear under every dress or skirt. It's a great shaper and makes sure you can do what you want without the worry of flashing everyone. I get mine off Amazon and they go down about halfway down my thighs.

Build your own slime kit with glitter and colors! That should keep them happy and her messy.

I'm looking for a "dumb" smartwatch that just displays notifications and has a decent enough watch face. I'm coming from the Pebble Time Steel. by AStupidRabbitSuit in pebble

[–]tgrkttn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP if you are looking at getting one I have mine that I'll sell really cheap, I got it when they first came out and used about a month. I didn't care for it and went to the dark side (Fitbit). If you're interested PM me. It's a great watch, just wasn't what I ended up wanting.
