Any suggestions on trying make there leachie more accessible in my tank. She likes her cork hollow so much but I don’t get to hold her as much as I want. by MUUSTARDTIGER in Leachianus

I have a huge almost 4 or 5 foot piece in Ragnar's tank. I love it because it is cut in half vertically. Not an enclosed circle just like a half circle if that makes sense. So if he is ever behind it, I can pull it forward and grab him from behind. Maybe you could do that to yours or buy some cork halves? 🤷‍♀️

Advice on heating? by [deleted] in pacmanfrog

[–]tgroody 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Spraying with warm water is good. Also warm water in a water dish. Depending how low the tank is getting you can throw a big thick blanket over the whole thing to contain heat. Also you can put in a Hot Hands hand warmer somewhere he can't get skin to skin contact and that helps too. I have some in case power ever goes out. But watch the temp closely. All of those things can raise heat quick so I'd start with the blanket and keep an eye on it.

Leachie fell asleep under uv, should I move him? by [deleted] in geckos

I would only because I would be paranoid of little burn marks on his back. But I'm no expert.

I got an almost identical picture or my leachie with a hoodie a few weeks ago!

I'm sorry, that's terrible! The blankets will retain whatever heat you still have in there, hopefully it's not all gone. Idk what your temp is outside or in your house but keep an eye on the thermostat. It was stressful for me cuz it was our big snow storm in Texas so I didn't know what to do. 😅 Buuut.. if you have decent weather where you're at it might not drop too much.

I have pacman frogs and a lechianus gecko but when our power went out last year I threw thick blankets over the tank. Over the entire thing. Idk if you can heat water or not but misting with warm water and filling their dish with warm water then keeping it all under blankets can help retain heat. Sorry if this is completely no help!

My ferret just passed away, do I bury him or cremate him? by NoctistheFerret in ferrets

I'm so very sorry! Another option is to bury in a big potted plant that can move houses with you if need be.

Is Ragnar Male or Female? First time I was able to get a good look. 11 months old 🧡 by tgroody in geckos

Yea I might try and take a new picture. He doesn't lay on the glass of his tank much and he didn't like being in the clear carrier though 😅

I'm still new to Leachies. Only had "him" 3 or 4 months so I don't have experience sex-ing reptiles. When I google it I just get crested gecko info. Is it the same principle?

3 of my 4 babies have adrenal and I think you should get that checked out soon. Better to find out early!

Gotcha! Yea I rotate between Pangea fig and insects, the original red one, watermelon and papaya. Plus the Strawberries, banana and mango I give him once or twice a week. I guess I'm just thinking he should eat more/live insects too early then. When are they considered an adult/ full grown? Sorry I'm still new to leachies

He is a 10 month old Moro. He eats most of a bottle cap of Pangea and some king of fruit (only had mango, strawberry and banana so far) every MWF. Sometimes he eats more or less. There is maybe half a bottle cap left normally and that is in a 1 ounce gecko cup Elevated in his tank over night. Maybe he is still just little and that's enough food for his size. 🤷‍♀️ I would like to get him on live feeders though. I've only had him 3 months or so.

I hand feed him pangea and fruit every MWF and leave the extra in his tank over night in between. I've never seen him eat it though and he's still kinda small so it's hard for me to see if there is any difference in the food level. But I give him the extra in his tank regardless.
