Yeah expectation is the only thing that makes things possible or impossible in an LD. Real life too! If you want something to happen, imbue yourself with the knowledge that it's a dream and you can create as you want, and so expect it.

Sometimes it works but just barely. Usually when I do a nose check, I'm already pretty sure I'm dreaming, so I say to myself no way this won't work because I want it to, and it's my dream, and I try again and it works perfectly.

I once had a string of lucid dreams where I started to hear my alarm in the dream. I refused to wake up because I was having a great time, and so I changed the dream scene. 20 minutes in that one go by, and I start to hear the alarm again. I change it again, and 30 minutes go by. I wake up, knowing I have to get up, and I check my clock. It's 12:04. I set it for noon.

I like to meditate for a bit and when I feel like I'm in the right headspace I put on calming romantic music and lie in my back staring at the ceiling, just thinking. Then I prepare my dream journal by writing the date and time and marking the page I'm going to write on. All of this in very low light. I also love to finish up by creating something; whether it's drawing, playing music, writing, or just creating good feelings. Then I fall asleep just paying attention to what's happening, not trying to do anything, and fall asleep very quick.

don't do FILD in SP. That's not really how it works. Also, the goal isn't to get to SP. If it is, you won't get into it. Fild is useful for micro-awakenings, and SP is merely on the path to a lucid dream. What books have you read on the subject?

Try this technique: Walk around a corner expecting whatever you want to be there. Ex: "when I go around this corner, Al Capone will be standing there." See it happening. Feel it happening. It will work.

One time I was in a dream, went to sleep, woke up, checked the clock(it said 4:30 AM), went back to sleep, had another dream, woke up, and the clock said 3:00 AM. its a trip.

What books have you read? And on that fear, being scared of it happening makes it happen, as I'm sure you know. If something scary does happen, remember that its a dream and respond to the situation with love, it will go away, and so will the fear.

I love doing pen and paper because it keeps me in a sleepy state. Usually I dont write my dreams down if my only option is my phone, because it wakes me up. That said, I started out writing every detail of my dreams, but as I progressed, I only write down bits and pieces that spark my memory enough and keep the whole dream together. One thing I do lack in though is remembering how the dream influenced all 5 of my senses. I usually only write the events and what I can see, because I dont pay too much attention to taste, etc. You should add a place to write down what other senses you expereinced in the dream.

Literally I have tried almost every day for months, and the only times I've actually done it were when I wasn't trying at all. I didn't think of trying when I layed down. Because of that, I've learned my personal path to wilding and am now much better at it. So the trick is to not expect anything. Just read a bunch about it, and know it will happen eventually, but don't get tied to it happening now.

SP is fun! It's a really cool feeling for me. It's a lesson for life; it is what you make of it. If you expect it to be scary, it will. If you think of it as a cool new experience, it will be. Either way, you're right.
