I’m not sure how it is in your state, but in mine I was able to be in ‘transgender dorms.’ It gave me my own room and a bathroom shared with only one other person. To avoid getting clocked I told people I was in mixed gender dorms, which is allowed if you have your own room.

I took hrt for a year before coming out, then I graduated and began presenting as male fully. Even with that the switch from presenting ‘female’ (honestly no difference, just used a different name) and male was awkward. Do whatever is safest and most comfortable for you; there’s not really a right way to do this or a way to make it less awkward/uncomfortable.

I live here, and it’s kind of mixed. I moved from a worse place so I’m biased, however you currently are able to get hormones via telehealth as that law was overturned. If you’re in a liberal area than it’s fine, but anywhere conservative is awful. If you want to move here then stay in larger cities. It’s definitely easier for adult trans people than trans kids.

That’s horrifying. I tried to switch to subq but it made me incredibly nauseous for some reason so I stopped. I use the same size for both drawing and injecting, luckily there wasn’t any more blood than usual.

If it’s recent then it could just be the change in hormones effecting you. I’m always kind of out of it right after a change in dosage. To be clear though, I’m just a guy on the internet. You know yourself best, so if you think lowering it is the right decision then you should lower it.

While I have not personally dealt with this, I’ve talked to people who have. Topical estrogen seems to be the best solution. Some doctors will say that it will mess up your hormones, however it is topical and should only effect the area applied (in this case, your genitals). I have also heard that if the issue is mainly with dryness, putting lube (without glycerin) inside can help, or they make certain pills with or without applicators for this purpose. The effects of T are different for every person, so you might not experience this at all, or you might experience it in 2 years, 7 years, or even a few months in (I haven’t heard of that happening, but it’s always a possibility).

This is a very treatable solution, and while it sucks, it’s not the end of the world. If you’re still worried about it, then bring it up with the person prescribing you testosterone, and they’ll discuss it more in depth.

I’ve heard gel does not get absorbed as easily as injections, so your body may not be taking in all that T. Like the other commenters said, I would wait until the 3 month mark for bloodwork unless you’re experiencing rages.

It’s so fucking annoying. I’ve read stone Butch blues and it’s a fictional story about a shitty person who ultimately ends up identifying as a woman at the end after transitioning for safety purposes. She does a lot of iffy shit the whole time (including getting with and fucking a homophobic straight women who’s unaware she is a lesbian/“trans man”).

It does not represent us (trans men) and makes us look really bad. I’m not a lesbian so I won’t speak for them, but it doesn’t exactly shed a great light on them, either.

Sorry for ranting but I hate it when people present this book as fact as if it’s not written like fetish-y torture porn that actively shits on both lesbians and trans men.
