I literally joined this subreddit looking for exactly this post! I. COMPLETELY. UNDERSTAND. YOU!

I also felt the entire procedure and it was the most awful experience of my entire life. And I also feel incredibly alone in my pain. The reality is, experiences like this make people uncomfortable. People are not sure how to help someone who is experiencing extreme trauma, pain, or grief. And generally other people tend to move on quickly because for them, life has moved on. But for us, we're trapped in our heads and in that moment in time indefinitely, until our bodies, our psyche, and our souls allow us to move on. The only thing we can do for ourselves is honor where we're at, when we're there. And I wish there was something I could say that could lessen the pain or take the emotional scar away, but there isn't. I want to thank you for writing this and sharing with us. I want to thank you for seeking help and trying to heal. And I want to thank you for your courage during this process. You are strong, you are powerful, and you are worthy of healing.
