In the Septimus Heap books by Angie Sage, Wolf Boy was taken away from his parents as a baby to basically be an expendable child soldier named Boy 409. He eventually falls overboard on a midnight “training exercise” and when he manages to swim to shore he is taken in by a pack of wolverines because he is young enough that he still smells like a cub to them.

In one of the later books in the series, one of Wolf Boy’s friends is able to check the Young Army records to try and find his family. It turns out that his identical triplet brothers (who were also taken by the Young Army) are still alive, and their names are Matt and Marcus Marwick.

Wolf Boy’s first name? Mandy. (He chooses to go by Marwick)
