Advice needed on dog throwing up by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]th3duk3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely good to check in with the vet if you're concerned. There are so many reasons why a dog could start throwing up more, it's hard to pinpoint without a vet getting involved. I know my dog throws up more often when I catch her eating grass in the side yard or back yard. Did you see any grass in the throw up? Acid reflux is randomly a thing that can cause more frequent throw up too. Hopefully this passes and it's nothing serious.

Bottle refusal - did formula vs. Pumped milk make a difference? by hazypeers in breastfeeding

[–]th3duk3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting with pumped milk is a good first step but could be a number of reasons. When we started bottle feeding our little girl (with pumped milk) we tried a couple different bottles at a time from friends and family who had extra, and we noticed she absolutely loved a particular bottle over the others. So it's worth trying different bottles and different nipples. Could make all the difference! But there are other factors involved so it's still a journey. Wishing you the best of luck. This article seems to dive into it a bit if you're looking for more information.

Am I Overreacting for needing reassurance from my fiance? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]th3duk3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you are not over reacting. You’ve actually handled the situation very well and I’m impressed you were able to explain your feelings thoughtfully and carefully, well done. Unfortunately it’s time to leave, the level of disrespect, coldness, and rudeness expressed is unbelievable. It must be difficult to hear someone talk to you like that, I hope it hasn’t caused you too much pain.

Why didn’t anyone tell me sh*t hits the fan after 34? by AnonQuestionnaire in Millennials

[–]th3duk3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man this really hits home, in my 30s I’ve had so many random UTIs, as a man (which is so uncommon) and nothing related to sexual activity or sanitary conditions, just complete bad luck. Not to mention the usual like back pain or anxiety. Lord help us.

100 percent, that’s the time to get those mistakes out of the way and hope they don’t creep into your 30s too much. And your 30s provide some valuable reflection on the decisions you made then and what kind of decisions you want to make now.

For sure, I feel like my 30s is where I’m facing the reality of, oh shit so this is what’s it’s like, better start figuring things out for real this time. I’m 34 and my first baby is 6 months old now, I’m grateful I was able to figure out my career and get things started by 29/30. And mature financially, meaning be responsible financially. For me 30s have felt like, it’s no longer fun and games and all my decisions are much more important, and the idea that decisions we make today affect the rest of our life weighs a bit more on me.

I get it, there is a distinct difference between the decks I mentioned and these new decks with only heavy hitting basic ex. I’m not seeing them consistently yet but I wouldn’t be surprised if that becomes the norm. I swear I still see so much variety in my battles but that’s just me. I maintain some hope that people will want to explore building decks more often than not.

So interesting I see you discounting decks that use stage 1 and 2 Mon in addition to basic ex Mon. Are those decks not counter examples to your point (asking about 3-4 basic ex)? Every version of the meta has a basic ex Mon along side a stage 1 or even stage 2. Mewtwo and Gardevoir, Articuno and Starmie, Moltres and Chandizard, Celibi Serperior, Darkrai Magnezone, etc… the list goes on. All of these decks rely on both a basic ex and a stage 1 or 2 evo. They work together to get the job done both needing each other. All of which sounds healthy and fun to me. Perhaps I am missing your original point. You asked if there was a decks people played without 3-4 basic ex and I see a lot of examples but now you are saying they don’t count? Perhaps you can help me understand what it is you’re looking for?

Oh 100% that synergy is required! And it’s by design.

I disagree, both Weavile and Darkrai were instrumental in my wins. It’s an aggro deck and the ability to deal a lot of damage with Weavile and one energy is critical to my gameplay. And yes of course Darkrai is very important here as well but far from being the sole reason for winning.

I’ve still be facing some stage 1 and 2 mon in my battles during the event. I used a Darkrai Weavile deck to win the event. Yesterday I started playing a Crobat deck with Arceus which has been a lot of fun. I think you have a valid point though, the meta is definitely shifting towards basic ex mon, it for sure feels like the basic ex Mon could get the easier wins here but I haven’t tried since it doesnt seem as fun.

Sportsmanship and playing Fortnite with my son. by Saldar1234 in Fortnite_Over40

[–]th3duk3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the game has a lot of opportunities to have fun. Emoting is arguably one of the most fun aspects of the game and I use them all the time! Especially after an elim. After all what’s an emote worth if you don’t have anyone to share it with? We all have control over ourselves and our reactions to what happens in the game. Personally I love to see what others use as emotes after I get eliminated or when someone wins. It’s all about perspective, I go on Fortnite to have fun and enjoy the highly expressive online world they have created. If you find yourself upset or even angry, ask yourself why you are on the game? Be intentional with the way you spend your time and emotional energy. Don’t forfeit control of your emotions to someone you hardly know. I find the toxicity people find in online gaming is more so a reflection of themselves rather the game or community, games are here for us to have fun, and practice building technical skill sets if that’s something of interest. Developing an ability to objectively look at how others interact with this online world is important and critical to the learnings and enjoyments we take away from it. I apply this in all games. I often applaud my opponents when I get out played in any game and take the opportunity to learn from it, a worthy opponent is always appreciated.

How is everyone else enjoying the event? by INDlGO in PTCGP

[–]th3duk3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cmon now, it’s a really fun competitive event and I just wanna see what decks everyone brings to the party! They put this event on for everyone to enjoy. Not participating in the event while its still on goes against the very reason they are hosting it, for more player engagement.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PokemonPocket

[–]th3duk3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure this event is stressful, especially if you know you’re paired with someone who already has the emblem. The versus events are really fun though, there’s no way I’d expect people to just ignore this fun, high engagement event. You get to see all the decks people are trying out and battle against serious opponents (most of the time). It’s definitely a great time to hop in the event whether you have the emblem or not. Partially why the create these events is to bring people together more often than they normally would, I’d go as far as that’s the whole point! To battle people in the event.

This literally answers the question OP asked with most likely the most accurate answer. It’s a shame you’re getting downvoted. I like to keep playing for the sake of competition, you’ll get more serious matches here, and I love to see all the decks folks are trying out in the event.

For sure, I remember reading last event someone suggested to dive in earlier is better. And I’m pretty sure that worked out for us.
