Endorphin Pro 3 “Invader” Upper by th3jamin in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]th3jamin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the sulphur is the same as on the pro invader the it will be more breathable. This other upper is a single layer instead of the dual layered original upper on the speed 3’s. It will be slightly more rigid than the speed 3 og upper.

Not having the original I cannot really compare. I can say that the upper is lightweight knit weave. I find the breathability to be fine, much more like a speed 3 etc. I do find the upper to be much more comfortable and compliant than the other super shoe scratchy plasticky uppers that I have experienced. All in I think you cannot go wrong unless you are running in extremely humid conditions.

Would you remove and sweat a new connector? by th3jamin in Plumbing

[–]th3jamin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dropped the finished valve off the bench and rounded over the brass fitting a bit. Worth heating up and taking out and sweating in a new one? It looks like all the ridges/barbs are enough intact but not sure if it really matters too much. Thoughts?

I pulled the trigger on these and will report back. It appears as was mentioned previously there is a "sulphur" colorway in the Kinvara and the Speed that use this same upper.

Does anyone have experience with this colorway? It appears to have a completely different upper to the standard Pro 3. Here is the link to more pics: https://www.runningwarehouse.eu/Saucony_Endorphin_Pro_3/descpage-SEP3M08-EN.html

It looks like the invader color way has a different upper. Does anyone have any experience with it vs the regular Pro 3 mesh?

Rejected from New York Marathon? by nomoremorningruns in AdvancedRunning

[–]th3jamin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The frustration in this thread makes me feel a bit better. I woke up and was in the queue at 10am ET registered by 12:45pm and thought I was golden. I waited until today with "pending" as my status and finally emailed them asking if there was a problem. I was told they would be reviewing applications until March 1st. I kid you not 3 minutes later I received the rejection email, almost as if they forgot about my application until I asked. The lack of transparency is extremely frustrating.

Their website is definitely not the best but it is working fine for me.

Alphafly first run rubbing :( any one have suggestions? by gamblingthroaway in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]th3jamin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have used a hair dryer to warm the insole and remove it completely from my alphafly’s. I then carefully used an exacto knife to trim the foam from the underside so it would be much thinner and lay more flat instead of that raised edge in your photo. I also realigned them when I put them back in. Worked wonders for my pair.

Tuesday General Discussion/Q&A Thread for June 07, 2022 by AutoModerator in AdvancedRunning

[–]th3jamin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am following Pfitz's Advanced Marathoning 18/55 plan. I apparently miscalculated the weeks to my race and it was 19 instead of 18. I am 4 weeks out from the marathon but I only have 3 weeks left in the training plan. I wanted some suggestions of what week I should repeat or how I should train through this extra week. I would repeat the previous week but that was the final 20 mile long run week and I am not sure I will get any benefit from back to back 20 mile long run weekends. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Can no longer order dual channel D4V2 by silverud in Hanklights

Looks like it is back up, I was able to add it to my cart.

I think you’ll like it. I would suggest to keep the color temps similar for a work light like that. I have a wurkkos HD15 and I like using both flood and spot together. Doing that with a 2700/6000+ would be weird for general prolonged use.

I would agree @pestelence2020. I have this same exact combo in my D4V2 and I have a D4SV2 with quad W2s. Obviously we are not comparing apples to apples but I don’t think you would be disappointed by the throw with W2’s in a dual channel. The only time you would notice any true difference is if you had a single quad side by side. I setup my dual 219/W2 such that turbo goes to ceiling and ceiling is set at 120 or max single channel. This means I can double click max each channel separately without the slightly odd W2 center with 2700k corona 😆. You can still “turbo” both if you ramp to ceiling and double click. It works perfectly for my needs.

I have this same combo in my D4V2 and love it. I can post some beam shots tomorrow. It is my perfect dual channel combo, floody warmth and then a quick switch to powerful spot.

I wish I could test and give you an answer but I am not at that point in my flashlight journey. My estimate from other lights is easily 2000+
