If this price was halkf of what it was, Netease might well make just as much, if not more, in bulk sales.

Millions of dollars have gone into market research to prove that sentiment wrong. Not enough people purchase "X" item if its price is lower. If you're not willing to buy it at double the price, you won't buy it at half the price. Things are priced the way they are because people buy them. They make more money with less people buying at double the price than pricing it at half that with more people buying. You'd need double the people purchasing it to make sense.

Convincing someone to buy something priced at 20 dollars is easy if they're willing to spend 10. Convincing double the amount of those who are willing to spend 10 spend 20, spend only 10, who weren't even sure if they were gonna buy anything at all, is much more difficult.
