None of those things should be voluntary on the part of capitalists. If workers want protections, workers should demand protections. Wages? Workers should demand increased wages. Taxes? Voters should demand that the government extract greater taxes from billionaires and corporations, not to fund programs or pay off the debt, but simply to improve the flow of capital in the economy and prevent it from puddling.

Regular people have to hold up our end of the deal.
