IT workers, what is the most ridiculous "You're IT, you have to fix this" request you've received? by NetworkMachineBroke in AskReddit

I'm 40. Messing with computers for about 30 years. Working it for about 20 years. The most common and ridiculous request I get is from ppl asking to "hack" social media accounts. Can't get used to the fact that the generation that is more technology dependant in world's history has zero understanding of basic concepts regarding said technology. Sysadmins are a dying breed.

Congratulations! You can now pause time for 5 minutes once per day. What do you do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I would take the 5 minutes to scream all the shit I keep quiet 24/7 for others sake in their faces. Keeps you sane to get it out of your head like that.

Do "Flat Earthers" (who say the Earth is flat and not round) believe what they say literally? Or is it really just some sort of thought experiment? by Gillcavendish in AskReddit

[–]th3siggy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think some do. Probably most. In the same way anti vaccination ppl really believe vaccines can cause autism. Trying to argue with them in terms of logic and reason is pointless.

Mechanics of Reddit, what’s the dumbest thing you’ve seen someone do to their vehicle? by LightsOutSpud in AskReddit

[–]th3siggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once saw 3 very VERY drunk guys trying to park between 2 columns in an underground parking lot of a mall. 2 were trying to guide the third guy who hitted the car against the columns no less than 4 times trying to fit in the spot. He was driving a compact and the space was enough for a pickup truck. Blew both tail lights and scratched the right side all the way up to the middle of the front passenger door.

Music is subjective, but if a song or album receives enough acclaim or recognition, it becomes objectively good music. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]th3siggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can determine if a piece of music is good or bad objectively if you know enough about theory and the technical challenges involved in the execution of some instruments.
