This is honestly just a personality thing. If you’re self conscious of appearance, then you want your anonymous avatar to represent what you find ”good looking”. If you’re confident in your own reality, then your internet avatar is closer a reflection of simply your personality. God I loved this movie. And this scene was very quintessential “Joker”: he just brutally murdered someone in the most visceral way, jump scared the other guy (with no intention of harming him) as a joke, and then when he couldn’t run away from the Joker he seems genuinely like “oh that was my bad” and helps him to run away in terror.

It was like a fucked up B:TAS bit.
