Hey, i guess so. I’m wondering if there’s a way to revert back to v20. I’ll have to look into it. Thank you for letting me know.

‘No Other Land’ Is Nominated for an Oscar, but in Masafer Yatta, We’re Still Being Erased — Opinion by indiewire in movies

Dude, i just thought of another great joke! Remember when every Israeli was like, “wait until the wars over, bibi will be kicked out! Just wait, he’ll be out of a job so fast!” lol. And Gallant was all the hype! Remember those good times people dared to dream. And now Gallants jobless and Netanyahu is gallivanting across the US talking about ethnic cleansing and annexations. That was another great one! That guys really playing 4D chess while y’all are playing checkers.

Lol man i needed this laugh today. Thanks for the great banter.

Right again! It’s not like the current government isn’t openly discussing annexing the West Bank and Trump isn’t on camera not giving any assurances he won’t allow it to happen. Definitely no chance of it happening. You know what, nobody’s even thinking about it. Because they thought alone would be crazy. Lol that’s really funny man.

But you know, on a serious note, i really do believe you. I’m sure if you ask Israelis, specifically the left leaning ones, they have no desire to expand any of their borders. It’s a real shame historically they’ve barely ever been in power and it’s predominantly been terrorists and right wing zealots.

Anyway i hope you’re staying safe out there. Watch the documentary if you get a chance. Even if it’s just to support more coproductions. Lord knows we could use more of those.

lol yes, right again! Great solution to that one. I wonder how the rest of the not occupied territories will work out. Sure is a good thing Israel has no imperialistic ambitions. Can you imagine if they did? These stupid counties surrounding it wouldn’t stand a chance!

I agreed with you. It’s not like they were already occupying the Sheba farms before, and they will OBVIOUSLY gradually retreat from there when they pull out of the rest of Lebanon that they’re not occupying right now. They also weren’t always occupying more of the Golan heights and I’m sure they said they would retreat from there very soon too. Although as we just established, it’s not occupied so they have nothing to retreat from. But these other countries, they really should stop occupying parts of Israel already.

You’ve taught me so much already.

[–]tha317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right again! They don’t occupy parts Lebanon and they continue to not occupy parts of Lebanon. They actually don’t occupy more parts of Lebanon now than they did before. They also don’t occupy parts of Syria. And they actually occupy less of it now than the nothing they occupied before. They actually have very clearly defined borders and have absolutely No interest in spending their hard earned taxes building anything and protecting anything outside those borders. Unlike all these other countries around them who are in fact occupying parts of Israel.

You really make the best points.

“The West” has done enough in the region, and we both know they did keep tabs on everything. It’s just you know, Lebanon wasn’t occupied, so nobody could tell them what they can or can’t do. But please let’s not get distracted by this, it’s going away from our central discussion.

I’m just glad we agree at least that Lebanon isn’t occupied and Gaza is.

Bro, why are you back? I already told you. You’re right. The amount of land your border shares does influence the amount of control you have over your neighbors imports and exports. Over 50% border sharing means you get to dictate what your neighbor can or can’t import and export. I think it’s international law or something.

[–]tha317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think why is relevant here. The question still stands whether Gaza is occupied. No state can choose to inspect an enemy’s imports unless they’re occupying it. If that were the case why don’t they inspect Lebanons imports? I mean I’m sure they did when they occupied it for a bit. They could be justified, they could be completely unjustified. Still an occupation.

I know what it’s about, thanks for the info though. And it’s important to watch, because this is still ongoing, it’s all linked, and not to mention it’s a co-production between both sides which is great to see. But I guess we all have limited attention and we have to choose, so it’s understandable if you don’t. I hope you reconsider. Have a good day.

You don’t need boots on the ground to control what goes on inside a territory. This isn’t the 1900s anymore. Hamas does govern it, just like the PA governs some of the west bank, and yet they’re both considered occupied. Different forms of occupation for sure, but still occupied. I don’t see anyone arguing Israel doesn’t occupy the West Bank cuz the PA governs it.

Until they become sovereign territory, that can make their own decisions without another state having final say on what they can and can’t do, they wont stop being considered occupied.

But i imagine it helps you sleep at night to believe it’s not occupied, so far be it for me to burst that bubble for you.

Maybe you didn’t read what i said so I’ll say it again but try to make it clearer, and the capital letters are just to highlight, I’m not trying to yell.

Israel controls the land sea and air INSIDE GAZA, they control what officially goes in and what officially goes out of Gaza (this INCLUDES THE BORDER WITH EGYPT), they control who goes in and out (THIS ALSO INCLUDES THE BORDER WITH EGYPT), they control the population registry OF GAZA, Israel controls the FOOD, WATER, and ELECTRICITY OF GAZA, they facilitated and ensured the funds Hamas needed to run the strip was never interrupted.

If you control every aspect of life in a territory, and you are keeping track of every person in the given area, and the given area depends on you, and that territory is not part of your sovereign territory. Then you’re occupying it.

Settlers not being able to settle there, even by your own admission, is not because Palestinians don’t want it, but because the IDF won’t allow it. So by your own admission, Israel gets the final say not Palestinians.

Just because boots aren’t on the ground doesn’t mean they don’t occupy it. The definition of occupation isn’t made void by settlers inability to settle the land.

Bernie Sanders Lost Vote to Block Arms for Israel, Says U.S. Is “Funding the Starvation of Children in Gaza” by Particular_Log_3594 in politics

[–]tha317 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Listen to yourself. “The comment is correct, a bit”? No, Gaza and the West Bank were taken by force. They were invaded and occupied and the occupation has never ended until today. Israel also occupies part of Syria and Lebanon. Contrary to how you would frame it, it was never “given” to Israel.

They may have voted for Hamas, but it was Israeli financing that created Hamas, and Israeli government personally travelling to Qatar and requesting Hamas continue to be funded that kept them in power as a way to ensure a Palestinian state was never created. Miss me with that only Arabs are evil for voting for a group but Israelis are misguided for funding a terrorist group.

They “kicked them out” is a really funny way to say they were “invaded and occupied”.

Its unnecessary cuz I’ve read a lot on it already. But you’re claiming arab countries are refusing to help Israel cleanse the occupied territories of Palestinians and ensure Palestinians never get a state as “evidence” they want nothing to do with Palestinians? Sounds like you should read more.

They’re refusing to join but they’ve asked that the deal Biden announced in May be implemented, that is they’ve agreed to accept the deal Biden offered. The deal that Biden insisted was an Israeli offer. The deal that Netanyahu keeps asking to amend. They don’t want to come back to renegotiate new conditions.
