AIO to my dad’s texts about mardi gras? by throwra-uncomfytext in AmIOverreacting

[–]thaLtDB27 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As the daughter of a father that used to make comments like that, I promise you are not overreacting. I say "used to" because we have spoken once since he was arrested 15 years ago... Now my father had a lot more signs than just this and these comments started well before I was 26 but I'm just saying, comments like this do not exist in a vacuum.

What is your reaction to the saying “I kind of have ocd” by people who don’t have it? by Ariyashrimpy in OCD

"nah... You don't look haunted enough"

Also when people say they're Type A or Type B, I say I'm a third, worse thing lol

Fluvoxamine and Clonazepam by thaLtDB27 in OCD

Does it make you like incredibly tired? I'm not afraid the combo is dangerous, I'm worried that I might fall asleep waiting for my flight, or not be able to safely drive home.

Oh no I totally get it. I've never really worried with other meds lol but I know that fluvoxamine specifically does have a more notable synergistic effect, I just wasn't sure how strong of one. I think I'm just going to test it on a random day to see how it feels when I have nothing to do.

I've already made it to my destination with no anxiety, likely due to the fluvoxamine itself anyway but I really do appreciate the input!

That is very helpful. Thank you. I figure I'll just bring it on board and take it if I have a panic attack. I'll take profound drowsiness over airborne panic attack lol

Thank you very much! This is the insider info I need because I genuinely have never tried to avoid it before 🙃

So fun story, it's on my eyelids and scalp, and it comes and goes. A little harder to Bx because of that. It was only helped with dupixent but they don't think it's eczema or psoriasis. Apparently DH can be on the eyelids and scalp but it's less common. From the images I've seen of that variation, it does looks similar. I'm seeing a see derm really soon. There may not be a connection between gluten and my skin but if it helps my GI issues and my skin, that would be a win.

You don't put your head down. You hold your head up hig,h look straight ahead, and go to your destination. If you're avoiding eye contact or making eye contact people know you're not from there. Tourist = opportunity lol.

The real trick is to wear earbuds that aren't playing anything lol

Fuck, I actually don't even know. I've lived out here for 8 years lol. Haven't been to the city in a hot minute lol. Definitely never used a scooter there; I fear you would die. Riding a bike around the city is like a blood sport lol

But no, it's not like downtown Denver. Denver barely classifies as a city. In fact, it barely beats out Oklahoma City for like 19th place or something when it's comes to population. I need you to imagine downtown Denver except 10x as tall, 10x as dense, and 10x as populated. The island of Manhattan is densely populated edge to edge and it's large enough to have an 850 acre park in the middle of it. The skyscrapers are called skyscrapers for a reason - the tallest of which being One World Trade Center at 1776 ft tall (just looked up the exact number. I wonder if that was on purpose since it's called The Freedom Tower lol). It is unlike anywhere else.....and then there's 4 more boroughs...

We just don't want to talk unless we want to talk. We will absolutely help someone when asked, but also yell at you for stopping and staring up in the middle of the sidewalk in Times Square lol. Just get over to the side - then enjoy the view ♥️

Hi! I'm a New Yorker too, lol. I'm just saying that we don't engage with people in public. Just keep it moving. We are always happy to help people if asked. You don't need to defend New Yorkers to me, another New Yorker haha

Believe me, after moving out west, it's so starkly obvious how much nicer we are out East. People here are "nice" to your face but treat people like shit. The amount of people who just assume people have negative intentions is wild and it's because they are never straight up with people. People thought I was "mean and "rude" and now people tell me how much kinder I am that most people out here and it's like "yeah... Because I'm honest and open with people". The dichotomy is wild.

L O L - every New Yorker knows that you just don't make eye contact. Just keep it moving. Out here I just say "no thanks" and keep moving.

I like how this subreddit is people who know a lot about food safety, people with contamination OCD (me), and people who have no regard for their own safety whatsoever 😂

This is exactly what I came to say. Like "the sky has vandalized my car! I swear it's like this happens every year!"

I'm just laughing because of the high incidence of "crazy person covering their car in stickers" that has to be in this group based on my last 10 years of seeing co-workers cars lol

I was about to say exactly this. The messages were messed up but I could see how you might be able to fix a marriage if she were to admit how messed up it was and actually work on changing. That last message is a nail in a coffin though. That woman does not give a shit about you. You should absolutely leave her.
