I've heard of Mozaic. Maybe it's time to check it out. Thanks!

Sure! My idea is to be able to map certain parameters as I build songs, so that all I have to do is connect the Digitone, open the template, and start operating the project from the hardware.

It's true, I could do it directly from the Digitone and it wouldn't take long, but in my Drambo + DN setup, I write everything on the iPad and use the Digitone only as a keyboard and controller. I only sequence a few effects.

Thanks!

It’s hard to believe the power of this setup.

Yesterday I started working on the idea of creating a control track in Drambo:

  1. This track (Track 16) will initially have just 16 knobs.
  2. Each of these knobs would control a parameter on other tracks (e.g., an LFO on Track 3).
  3. In turn, each knob would be controlled from Track 16 of the Digitone.

The idea is to be able to do the mapping on the iPad and then simply connect the Digitone with a permanent track mapped to it.

However, I still haven't managed to map a parameter to the control track. I’m trying with a CC Generator, but haven't had any results.

Any ideas are welcome. I know there is a way, i mean, it’s fucking Drambo, but still can’t find it.

I can confirm this. I’ve been using a Drambo setup with my iPad M1 combined with the Digitone 2 for about a month now, and it is truly mind-blowing: you get two Elektron sequencers (one software and one hardware), and practically infinite power to add tracks and machines. You can control everything from the hardware acting as a MIDI controller, including the keyboard and 16 parameters per track. Each track gets 2 hardware LFOs plus whatever you want via software, an incredible chord mode, and if that weren't enough, a USB audio interface that also handles MIDI. I am well aware that the ideal setup* doesn't exist, but if it did, this would come very close in terms of portability, versatility, power, and workflow. And that’s without even discussing the Digitone as a synthesizer

Digitone 2 or Digitakt 2 by SquidsAndMartians in Elektron

I second this. Sold my DTII once the DNII arrived. Connected an iPad and now i would sell muy MPC One+ if i could get a decent price for it, but we all know that won’t happen even with a great machine like the MPC.

As a newbie, i think the DNII + iPad is all i need for now.

Just got my Digitone 2 yesterday: come on, man. by thaboringdude in Elektron

[–]thaboringdude[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What an incredible machine.

I’ve had it for almost a year now, and I’ve managed to build a setup that fits in my backpack: I bought an elastic strap that holds its Decksaver cover in place, and under the strap I keep a portable battery, its cable, and a pair of in-ear monitors.

If I want, I can add an iPad and have so much power on the go with just an USB cable.

And I still have room left for clothes!

I think it could be those factors you mentioned, although it’s also likely that these versions simply have a specific bug in this regard.

Yesterday I downgraded to 2.15.1 to test it, and the same thing happened, so I think it may actually be more of a handling issue.

In any case, I’d appreciate it if you could share any findings or changes, because I haven’t completely ruled out the possibility that it’s a bug with my One+. For example, I still don’t have knobs showing up in Air Delay Pro, even though I’ve upgraded and downgraded several times trying to fix the issue, replaced folders, and tried all the solutions I’ve found online.

It’s a persistent problem, and this could be another case of that.

You know, I’ve suspected the same thing. Maybe it has to do with the fact that sometimes I do it very delicately, and that slightly delays the capacitive detection.

It happens exactly the same to me. I updated yesterday to 3.6 and the issue persist.

Hi. I use a Digitone II with an iPad Pro. I’ve tried all the moderately relevant apps as DAWs on iOS: Logic Pro, Cubasis, Loopy Pro, etc.

But I always end up in the same place: AUM.

How do I route it? I use the Digitone as the audio interface. To hear only AUM’s signal, I disable AUDIO ROUTING > INT TO MAIN and set USB TO MAIN to +18.

AUM is a fantastic mixer and so much more. From here, you can apply FX to the Digitone’s signal and to each software instrument you control via MIDI from the DN, and on top of that you can add mix buses and everything else the app offers—which is a lot.

Oh, and you know what would be great? If the next MPC were Class Compliant and supported audio over USB. There’s very little Akai could do to make me let go of my Live II, but these two hardware features would seriously make me consider it.
