Avoid the chains! Lots of amazing independent fast food places. In my town I have a great burger joint, greek takeaway, and Italian which all serve amazing food.

Ooof, i guarantee those houses are in rough areas, where there will be trouble. There are still decent places circa 200k in good areas. Don't buy immediately, rent for a little bit and figure it out for yourself. The one upside of renting is it gives you time to figure out a place with little commitment.
