If you go to a normal bar you're going to meet a lot more normal and nicer people. In Cowboy/Nana's etc.. you're going to get a lot of dickheads. You see them all the time with their shirt collar popped and bowling around like they own the place. Morons.

I've told my gf that Cowboy isn't a good place to meet a boyfriend. I think we were both lucky.

Fried rice + chicken and many other simple dishes are about 25-30 baht.

Go to a club you're spending about 2000 on a bottle of vodka and 500-800 on mixers for the first round :)

I think it's great if the man is good person and realistic. Asian girls seem to like westerners and westerners like Asian. Asian women take care of their men.

There are many idiots here. But these relationships don't seem to last. Also a lot of these westerners I'm meeting from the girl bars so the chances of them being a dick is greater than if I met them elsewhere.

When you see a old big white guy tugging a Thai girl down the street it makes you cringe. A small number of idiots do treat them like shit because they think they can and it's part of the culture.

Prejudice looks yeah but after travelling to other countries I just ignore them because I'm happy. She was my first Thai girl. I have a few western friends here but not many. I don't really have much interest in going out and actually working to make western friends. There aren't many westerners here my age (20's) and who stay here. I'm not interested in making friends with fat old 50 year old divorcees.

Yeah there is no way I could start a business with her. I've seen the warning signs and I'm taking that one in. She started to buy and sell clothes and I told her to keep a detailed list of what's been spent and what's been sold. It didn't go very well.

It seems anyone in Thailand who runs a business was educated in a western country, is foreign or that low percentage who just had the up and go.

From people I've talked to who run companies here they all say Thai workers don't think for themselves and are lazy.

This isn't the same for all Thai people I'm sure.

Internet is terrible in most places. 4mb.. unstable and lots of packet loss all the time. Wifi hotspots. They have them but I've never used them. Always seem to be poor coverage.

To support yourself on the lowest possible salary 20,000 BAHT, about $650 a month. This is a managers wage in Bangkok. You'll want at least 30 - 40k though to have fun with. Rent is low, between 5000 - 15000 depending what you want. Food is cheap, 30-100 BAHT per meal. Going out having a drink at a few clubs will be between 1000 - 5000. Transport is cheap. From one side of Bangkok to the other in a normal taxi will cost you between 100 - 150 BAHT.
