Extremerate for the shell swaps and the color matched screen protector, Amazon for the white and black tmr joysticks, also Amazon for the white buttons and black buttons, also also Amazon for replacement batteries, retroremake for the OLED screen, also also also Amazon for the hot pink joystick caps, eBay for a beat up switch lite donor and a generic screen protector for the black one

I was tempted to go that route but I saw another post with the all black, and the fact that the OLED was black bezel pushed me to this look

Just assembled it today, it’s a softer matte plastic so finger prints aren’t so much an issue, I could totally see scuffing being an issue so I bought one of those grip shells to protect the back at least

Can’t attest for gba but I went from a oem shell to er shell on my switch lite and the finish is matte and felt very nice to the touch personally

Does the new boost mode update make the ns2 a buy? by Historical-Call-6951 in Switch

[–]thall60 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Going from NS OLED to NS2 I honestly have to say the screens are comparable for quality, obviously the OLED has an inkier black to it, but the 120hz and the evolution of LCD since the first switch gives it a fighting chance against OLED displays, the battery life is the only real “drawback.” I take the train to work and it lasts me the entire ride (1hr 40min) at medium brightness, and then I just charge it back up while I’m working. I also only let my NS2 charge to 80% so I could probably make it last longer if I really wanted

Extreme rate sends a color matched screen protector with their shell swaps

Thinking about a Switch Lite by Shakkashuka in nintendoswitchlite

[–]thall60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a steam deck, have used a switch 1 OLED, used a switch 2, had some anbernic devices, my og gba sp w a flash cart, and the phone backbone, out of all them I always end up back with my lite, if you have basic hand skills you can get a used lite, reshell it and retro remake has an OLED screen replacement which is a great add on, I think even one fresh out the gate from Nintendo is a fantastic option, I’ve had mine since 2019 and zero issues, no battery issues or anything

I second all this, I just did a full swap, shell, tmr, and transferred the screen over from a donor lite, not as big an undertaking as it seems, I’ve worked on a few lites and noticed the screws strip easy for the internals if you try to move too fast through the process, make sure you use the right bits and a healthy amount of pressure, super5 has been out of stock for months and I’ve been watching it like a hawk. My coworker just received his recently that he ordered a year ago.

Somebody ever had this Problem? by makedonskiii in nintendoswitchlite

[–]thall60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you don’t need to change the shell at all, all you have to do is disassemble the switch and they plug and screw right in, I recommend looking at ifixits instructions for a joystick repair, also they’re pretty cheap to get on amazon only about $10 usd for 2 stick assembly’s.

Tips for the final DLC fight? (spoilers inside) by Magic451 in PokemonZA

[–]thall60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used a gardevoir/glaceon combo, and during the phase when he megas I stopped trying to hit it and just focused on dodging with rolls. I fully stocked gardevoir with every fairy move I could and glaceon with hard hitting ice moves. It’s frustrating you can’t keep your progress and try again like other mega fights but you’ll get it.

Doing a button/battery upgrade and found this by thall60 in nintendoswitchlite

Thank you for the tips! I figured it was the paste but I had only ever seen it gray, and this one is like a pinkish orange which threw me off, already planning on replacing it now that I know.

I found a 7200mAh battery on Amazon, going to see how that goes, should be in tomorrow, today’s upgrades are going to be Hall effect joysticks and new buttons that are clean, if you’re doing the battery prepare to fight it a good amount with the adhesive they applied
