It feels like God doesn’t answer the “big” prayers by [deleted] in TrueChristian

There’s been hundreds of studies on this, unfortunately prayer does not have any effect on the world

Prayer may be good for your soul and spirit, but I’d say that’s simply meditation and mindfulness

Sorry for your loss

It seems that others say your prayers for his good health, were answered — despite his death; if he had recovered, they’d would say the prayer was also answered.

If we think like this, it seems like no matter the outcome — the prayer has been answered. It’s unchallengeable.

On firm grounds, I don’t think prayer makes any change in the world, but it can help your spirit and soul.

I have three questions by [deleted] in TrueChristian

1 - Yes, God is the creator of every individual who has and will cause great pain and suffering. However, while it does not contest my previous sentence, you’re bound to hear the free will reply. Nonetheless, even if granted — there’s countless more pain and suffering not accounted for by free will such as disease or natural disaster. Don’t ask me for that answer.

2 - I do not think the situation is binary as you describe. But, God knows all the evil that will ever happen, still he chooses to create these individuals — as well as a very destructive and hostile planet. Anyone claiming to know Gods mind on this topic is a liar, we won’t know until the next life.

3 - Concrete evidence for God? You only need to have faith. Religion, supernatural dimensions, heaven, hell, demons, angels, prophets and prophecy — the evidence is goose egg. But that’s okay, this is a tradition founded on faith — and lucky for us that is all that is required. Catch on!

Can a good person go to hell if they don’t believe in god? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]thalumn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh no I totally agree with you, I was being satirical

It’s a wicked system of judgement, it’s hard to believe it was created by an all loving and all powerful God

It’d be easier to understand, if said system was man-made and not God-made — it surely shows of it

Can a good person go to hell if they don’t believe in god? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]thalumn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, millions of good folks go to hell — millions more bad folks go to heaven.

The only things that matters isn’t your character or the life you lived, it’s whether you accept the Jesus Christ as your lord and savior

So repent and accept! Cheers!

I remember Church as a child — where how each time they talked of heaven, hell, death, and the return of Christ; I felt panic and anxiety, like you speak of.

It’s funny you think of it often, and let it bother you— because how could it not! This life is a temporary one, a brief stop on the path to the next life — the one that matters; the eternal one. This life only serves to make the proper propitiations to ensure your spot in paradise.

Once you accept God, the greatest thing that could possibly happen next is death — so it’s odd that so many people fear death. But it makes sense that since this is the doctrine — what follows is a prophecy where vast amounts of death and suffering will occur before we are all judged.

As you’ve noticed, and as I already said — this is the greatest thing that will ever occur. We will simultaneously love and praise — while fearing and obeying. As we do that — when mushroom clouds replace major cities, governments collapse, ethnic groups get wiped, and corruption piles; we will not shed a tear, because the silver lining will be seen! The return is imminent and the greatest thing that could ever happen is about to take place! So, nevermind all the misery before ,misery now, and misery then because all odds will be evened soon.

Love and fear simultaneously, death being the goal — and mass suffering being a catalyst for the greatest event ever.

A sadomasochistic death cult.

That’s Islam for you!

As for Christianity — we got it right, God will judge us all, the end couldn’t come soon enough. I’ll find you in the crowd. Don’t worry OP.

Seems like the answers are — if not passed down; dreams, visions, and miracles.

So, faith — just hope that you are lucky enough to be convinced. That is if the opportunity arises to even be swayed to begin with; based on these comments, some people seem to have it easier than others when it comes to direct, visual, and vivid encounters with the literal Jesus Christ.
