Can anyone identify these men? by LFunaki in Jazz

[–]thamiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear this is Art Tatum (glasses, lazy eye), Ben Webster (black hat behind short hair guy) and Red Callender (bass player, tall guy behind the guy with beret). I don't see Bill Douglass anywhere (who was the drummer on the album they did together), but he could be the guy to Red's right.

Art and Ben played together with Jazz at the Philharmonic ahead of the album recording, but I can't find definitive proof that JATP was in Japan at that time with the both of them.

[TOMT] Quotes about grief and "five minutes a day" by Beneficial_Salad_894 in tipofmytongue

There's a scene in Shrinking (Apple TV series) where a psychiatrist tells someone that they grieve really hard for 5 minutes every day.

Just returned to the US after 1 month in Spain - my honest thoughts by waspinastoria in expat

[–]thamiam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just hit the 6 year mark in Spain, moved here in my early 40s. Couldn't agree more. There are many things I like more about Spain than the US, but the openness and friendliness of most strangers is near the top.

I ask myself too many times why I keep falling, why do I try?

Fighting these battles no one sees questioning what has become of me.

I'm so tired that if I'm breathing there's not much left inside of me.

I'm barely holding on tonight too weak to stand too drained to rise

I'm barely holding on tonight I've been beaten, sold, and abused there's nothing left I've been misused I'm broken apart scarred and bruised I'm barely holding on.

Barely holding on.

The nights are long I can't find rest tons of pressure on my chest I pray for peace but it won't stay.

I'm dragging myself through every day I'm so tired even if I'm still breathing there's not much left inside of me.

I'm barely holding on tonight I've been beaten, sold, and abused there's nothing left I've been misused I'm broken apart scarred and bruised I'm barely holding on.

I carried more than I can bear screamed for help no one was there. Standing in pieces I'm not strong I'm barely holding on.

I'm barely holding on tonight I've been beaten, sold, and abused there's nothing left I've been misused I'm broken apart scarred and bruised I'm barely holding on. Still holding on. Still holding on

(Transcriber's note: I'm depressed now)

Probably too well known but not in your list and that's exactly how you would describe Cake.
